Why did Shero not bring in any talented veteran forwards in the off-season? It seems the only guys with skill are the youngsters who, ideally, you'd want surrounded by veterans with skill to help them out.
Smith had 69 points in 64 games last year. We have about the same amount/skillset of veterans as usual. I would look one step further. Thompson for example needs to step up. And while Gibbons has been injured/scratched i woul like to see him produce more as well. They arent the new guys anymore.

They brought in Smith and Ferierro, they are skilled AHL guys. Did you expect them to bring in NHL guys? The PP has been a real disappointment.
It just doesn't look like our vets are producing as well as some of the other team's better vets.
Or if it's not a lack of veteran talent, then what's the issue with the Baby Pens' offense? Why's Bennett the only one that's even close to a point per game?
The offense is bad simply because they lack offensive talent and the two proven AHL vets in Smith and Ferriero aren't producing to the level that was expected of them, especially Smith, who is bringing in a huge salary for a guy on AHL deal. Hate to make it sound that simple but that's what it is.
There just isn't any dynamic offensive talent on the team other than Bennett. WBS is just a sloppy, sloppy team offensively. Passes never seem crisp, transitions aren't great, combine that with an overall lack of offensive talent and more often than not the team is going to struggle to score consistently.
I haven't watched the last handful of games but is Dumoulin being used less on the pp? He was doing pretty well on the 2nd unit and was wondering if he has seen his pp duties increased any. Couldn't hurt, the pp is dreadful and has been all year. Ferriero was especially bad on it early on.
I wanted to ask how Kuhnhackl has been for you guys so far... I followed him a bit this year, but just stats-wise, and he started very slowly in this regard and just recently broke out a bit. How has his performances been so far? And for how long do you think he'll be out with his current injury?

Thanks in advance!
IIRC he was with Holzapfel and Bennett for a couple of games and looked real good. I was a huge Das Kuhn fan going into the 2010 draft, but he's left me wanting more. Showed flashes of real potential, but also has showed inconsistency and characteristics of being injury prone.
I think once he's a staple in WBS lineup we (as fans) will be able to gauge his play a lot more accurately. With that said, I think he's played 10 or so games this year, and he's impressed me every time I've seen him which was about 6-7 of those games.
Kuhn wasn't getting a lot of ice team -- and I think he just sustained a fairly prominent upper body injury about a week ago, so he may be out for a while. Very unfortunate.
Hey guys, been gone for most of a year (#lockoutssuck!) and I'm trying to get back in to hockey. What has everyone been doing for watching the AHL in lieu of the big club? And if anyone has a link they would be interested in PM'ing me I would be very appreciative.
