182 million apart on a 5 year deal.

NHL's offer : 55.5%-51.5-50-50-50.
NHLPA's offer : 56.3%-53.8-52-50-50.

NHL is going to turn down an offer that has a difference of 1.2mil per team, per year?
All because Bettman wants his contractural rights that the players fought hard for in the last CBA.

I'm completely done with this lockout, done talking about it, done reading about it.

The owners are the Big Swinging D1cks in this equation. They do not like to lose a negotiation, which they felt happened last time.

The owners will get what they want. Players will always being coming into the pipeline, owners are a much more limited breed.

"I agree 100 percent with Hammer," Neuvirth told TVA Nova Sport in the Czech Republic. "This lockout is not about majority of players, I think. It is about several superstars with big contracts"

Fehr and the superstars are being exposed. I hope more players grow some stones.

And Erik Cole is hardly a superstar, but he does have some stones.

Really? Have you ever seen him play hockey? He's a wimp in a man's body.

I love Erik Cole saying Hamerlik wanting to get hockey back is selfish, us wanting to get millions of dollars to play a game isn't. Then he goes on to talk about what the other veterans sacrificed in the last lockout. SACRIFICED!

Like this sacrifice?

or this?

or this?

PERSPECTIVE!

Erik Cole has established himself as among the forefront of selfish pukes on the players' side of this dispute. How deliciously hypocritical that he attempts to give that label to someone else.

"The reality of losing more regular-season games as well as the 2013 NHL All-Star Weekend in Columbus is extremely disappointing," said NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly. "We feel badly for NHL fans and particularly those in Columbus, and we intend to work closely with the Blue Jackets organization to return the NHL All-Star events to Columbus and their fans as quickly as possible."

Hahaha. Yes, I'm sure you feel ever so deeply for the fans.

Until Erik Cole compares himself in any way to veterans or members of the police/fire departments, you're doing just as much word spin as he is.

Edit: Just for further arguments sake, I totally believe Cole to be a selfish moron. Just don't make the jump that you did when he didn't.

I know I am spinning that same they are, actually not as bad as they are, that's my point.

And my spin isn't that far off, to sacrifice it to lay down or give up something by choice. The players are locked out, they haven't given up anything by choice, they didn't go to ownership a few years ago and go "we see our salaries are having a negative effect on many teams in the league and we want you to cut our pay" that would be sacrifice being forced to give up something you wouldn't give up under normal circumstances isn't a sacrifice at all.

Absolutely both sides are at fault, we're 182 million apart in a 3 billion dollar business and neither side is willing to give first, it's more of a male anatomy competition then a negotiation at this point. Want both sides to drop the act and get this done.

However during this the players attitudes and comments have put me off to a level I didn't think possible. I always though that NHL players where different then most athletes, they didn't have that same A-hole totally selfish gene, that they where smart and well thought out. Turns out they are just as bad and in many cases worse. I am SO SICK! of hearing the NHL players talk about themselves and this lockout as if their some beacon to humanity being lockedout by this group of owners who our out there to ruin them and mankind. Best of all they aren't attacking the owners, you know the people who are actually locking them out, and instead are attacking Betteman because attacking the owner would hurt their wallet and that's the ONLY think they ever cared about. Then they go on and talk about how poorly their treated and how the NHL is out to get them, meanwhile the NHL is paying them to not play hockey this year. Then they spin their stories about how all they care about is us fans and the game of hockey and how it's was never about the money, but they took hockey away from themselves and all the fans for money. And how some of the most vocal people like Versteeg, and White have bashed Bettemen
meanwhile the angry fan who went up to Bettman has been to more meetings then most of the loudmouths combined. Now Erik Cole attacks Roman for saying what every fan thinks and I bet what many players think but won't say because their afraid morons like Cole who has the IQ of the puck will go out and attack them calling them self, the most ironic statement in the history of sports, and talk about their sacrifices and how they gave up so much for the future generation? Really they care about the kids of tomorrow and that's why they are battling so hard today? Then if this is all about kids in the NHL 20 years from now why are the NHLPA so determined to only have a 5 year CBA and not a 40 year CBA? It's all about the kids right?

Yeah if the players really cared for anything or anyone but themselves they would give a priority to taking care of the NHL pensioners who are struggling in some cases to make ends meet. The very guys that helped make them wealthy beyond their dreams. There was an article in yesterday's paper about a veteran like Bob Nevin (an original NHLPAer who fought to establish a decent wage and agreement for NHL'ers of the future). Nevin is collecting a meager $ 8,500 a year as his pension. That is shameful. These greedy ******** need to take a look in the mirror.

It's not really about the players... it's more about the superstars with 3+ million longterm contracts.

Lol at Bolland. Chris Chelios would approve. The team's PR staff however, probably not so much.

I wonder if I tweeted "@DaveBolland can I get a RT for wanting Wirtz dead" he'd be quite as obliging?

That's part of what makes the player bashing so great. Players are bahing Bettman and Daly left and right but have yet to make one comment about any owner who are the people who have actually locked them out.
