I am opposed to trading Rasmus one because his value is terrible right now and two he has the potential to be a great ball player it just doesn't make sense atm to get rid of him for a sub par return. Let him play next year see how he and the team do and if he is bad go from there.

(I don't chime in much here, I am an avid reader of this forum so don't hate on me for posting lol just wanted to express my dislike for the trade Rasmus talk.)

Just have to hope he can sustain the performance without the juice, I guess. But makes the bench a lot stronger with Bonifacio and Izturis taking turns at 2B (although Bonifacio's defence at 2B is concerning).

Get us Ogando (for Arencibia) to be our sixth arm, and Gomes to platoon with Lind, and Anthopolous can take the next few months off.

Reyes
Cabrera
Bautista
Edwin
Lind
Lawrie
Colby
JPA (currently)
Izturis/Bonafacio

bench: Izturis/Bonafacio, Buck, Davis and McCoy at this point

Joshson
Buehrle

Janssen/Oliver/Delabar/Santos/Lincoln/Cecil/Rogers as it currently stands.

Jesus. Jays are going to be seriously legit this year. Balanced all-around with power and speed.

Yup or we may trade for one but the way it sounds, we are definitely going after more starter(s).

Holy Jesus. Rogers really putting their money where their mouth is.

Yeah I wouldn't want to trade him either just because we don't have a primary candidate for CF. One option is Bonifacio, who is mediocre defensively at CF, and the other is Gose, who needs to develop his bat more at Buffalo. I'd rather keep Rasmus and let him build his value, especially since now we have such a deep offence that he should be able to hit.

Sign McCarthy to a 2 year deal now. Trade JPA somewhere.

Reyes
Lawrie
Bautista
EE
Cabrera
Random DH
Rasmus
d'Arnaud
Bonifacio

Johnson
Morrow
Buerhle
Romero
McCarthy
Happ

That team can compete with anyone.

I cannot stress how many hits the Tigers pitchers gave up (especially Porcello) because their infield was so bad defensively.

There's nothing positive out of Miggy's game aside from his stat line, he is definitely the most impressive hitter in the league, but his defence and baserunning are so costly that I don't see how you can consider him a better overall player (based on this season) than Trout.

And wow that's a very pricey deal for the Melk man. I thought maybe 1 year at 8 but 2? If this signing is finalized I hope he can prove more than his past seasons predicate.
Are you debating who is a better overall player or MVP award?

What does Johnny Peralta's D have to do with Miggy's MVP award. Miggy only made 13 errors at 3b a position he had not played for regularly for 5 years. Obviously Miggy will have more errors than Trout as Trout does not field screamers at the hot corner.

Well we are talking about the most valuable player, not the most valuable hitter.

Errors have nothing to do with it. If he has no range to field the ball, it will count as a hit every time.

His baserunning and defence cost the Tigers runs. Trout's baserunning and defence gives the Angels a better chance to win. ¿Comprende?

Take it for what it's worth, but Incarcerated Bob says that they're going to get Marcum.

Makes sense.

Add Marcum and we are legitimate contenders for the WS title next season.

Love this move. At worst he's still an upgrade over Davis & Benefacio & Rasmus. Gives us the depth to platoon Davis & Benefacio & Izturis around to whatever works for us, and love this this just brings more speed to the lineup. I'm salivating over our running game this year.
