How will the NHL determine draft order after they cancel this season? Last time was a "lottery" that was in no way fixed If Lemieux cries again, I know he will get the first pick. If he can contain his whining, I bet Phoenix "wins" to help make them more attractive to a potential buyer. Does anybody have any idea what the plan is if/when they cancel the season?
I think this might have been covered in the Bruins draft thread, but it's something like every team gets 3 lottery balls, and they lose one for each playoff appearance in the last 3 years or each #1 overall pick in the last 4 years. However, each team is guaranteed one ball in the lottery. Then, the second round snakes. So the team that picks #1 overall, has the last pick in the second round, whereas the team that picks #30, gets the #31 pick or the first pick in the second round.
I'd rather see a representative from each team fight in Brian Burke's barn that he was going to rent and fight Kevin Lowe in, and whoever comes out on top picks the draft order. Cam Neely is our guy.

Since we probably won't get hockey this season, this is the next best thing. I'd accept it.
Yeah, if Phoenix wins either the NHL is just reaaaaally unlucky or it's fixed.
Honestly, after last time, I think they'd be more likely to fix the lottery against the Coyotes... Hey, Jones and MacKinnon are both good, right? What's the harm of switching #1 and #2? Especially if #2 is Edmonton?
If we had the #1 pick it would be Mackinnon he's the BPA. We could then trade Krejci for a defender.
Oh boy, Segs/Mackinnon........ouch, I'm being giftwrapped a fantastic season here watching Mackinnon/Drouin (who is also an amazing player) with the Mooseheads
I've only sparsely paid attention to the good players that could possibly be drafted out of juniors mackinnion always comes up drouin.. but i like darnell nurse if we're later on in the 1st round which i expect we are i say we pick up this kid. He's a pretty phyiscal player that hasn't filled out it by the looks of him and he's just plays like a mean sonova*****. I'm sure other people have more knowledge of the prospects so i'll just have to refer to them.
You guys do remember our reputation with the league, right? The Bruins are one of the official heels of the league right now, right along with the Flyers. We're never going to get the breaks and we're never going to get the benefit of the doubt.
If the fix is in, and I really suspect it is because why wouldn't it be, they'll find some way to give us the 32nd overall pick in the first round.
