Well, could've been worse. Was genuinely scared after the first.

Would have been much more painful if they didn't play the way they did in the 2nd and 3rd. I hope the slow starts don't become a trend

I'd rather this game come at the beginning of the year than at the end of it.

That wasn't a slow start. That was a horror show.

They let the high emotions of the home opener get to them. They battled back in the 2nd and 3rd, so it wasn't too bad. They'll be ready on Thursday.

Stop taking bad penalties.

Have better coverage.

Meh.

Wasn't happy at all with the first. Team made a lot of preseason mistakes.

But I was impressed that they didn't give up. Last year's team would've allowed more goals.

We're going to catch a team sleeping eventually, too.

I stopped watching after the first and just monitored the box score.

Obviously I'm still pissed but at least they stopped the bleeding and fought back to a semi respectable score.

Too much nerves for the team I think.

Krueger too inexperienced to pull Dubnyk after the 4th if not the 3rd.

0.647% Dubnyk... you aren't Schneider. Come on!

Seriously, Schultz played spectacularly and I think the most minutes, Petry had kind of a stinker, Dubnyk played poor-horrendous when we needed him to play really well... and I think that save Niemi made on Eberle changed the game. Stopped all the momentum we had.

I agree, but the optimist in me says the 1st was an awful anomaly. Hopefully that's the case.

Took Hoosa out of my line-up and put in Yakupov in my hockey pool. Boy did that ever pay off.

I was working and then had to go to the supermarket. Made it home right before the third period started. Up until there was like 6 minutes left I thought everyone on the team was playing a really good game.

Belanger went off with Clowe and I got to marval at how great we look playing 4 on 4 hockey.
Gagner should've been awarded a penalty shot in the third there. Had some awesome moves to get into a position to take a shot.

Wish I could've made it home in time for the entire game! :/

inconsistency will be this team's biggest issue this year, which, I guess, is to be expected. Would be a miracle if they make the play-offs, but the 10-12 place finish in the West is probably a more realistic expectation (5-10th pick overall pick in the draft).

If you would've told me after that gross 1st that the final score would be 6-3, I'd be happy. So I am.

Hopefully fistric comes in for potter on Thursday. Maybe we can clone fistric and have him come in the lineup for Whitney too. Blah.

Ok well the Oilers have a lot of work to do in their own zone, but that really wasn't all that bad. Detroit lost 6-0 their first game, we all know about Vancouver, fact is we're going to have to wait and see what happens the next couple of games before we know if this team can figure things out.

Minus the 1st period and that's what heck of a game for Oilers. Played a team game after the 1st. Can't complain.
