I've listened to some of his podcasts and followed what he says on Twitter, and he seems pretty balanced. He knows his Celtics, which is a plus for this station. In terms of hockey, he's not as knowledgable as DA, but he's talked quite a bit about them, and he's had guests on his show such as: Barry Melrose, Jimmy Murphy, Joey McDonald, and John Buccigross.

He did fill in for DA last year to talk hockey, and joined Goucher and Beers to talk hockey before a Bruins game in March of 2011.

I miss them too.

They and the Whiner Line were the only reasons I ever tuned in to WEEI. And Holley has turned into a first class jerk since he joined the afternoon show IMO. But then being a first class jerk is a prerequisite [sp?]there.

For those interested, Goucher and McAdam are on in place of Gresh & Zo until 2.

Heard a few minutes of them earlier. Really dug it in comparison to the usual show. The sound of Andy Gresh's voice makes me want to drive into a brick wall at high speeds.

The thought is mutual. Add to that Zolak trying to emphasize his points by fake yelling away from the mic, and his stupid giggling.

They did a little bit. They also talked about which person in Boston sports had the worst year in 2012, and they talked about the whole Tim Thomas thing. http://boston.cbslocal.com/2012/12/2...-year-in-2012/

Yeah, that show is a complete train wreck. It's virtually un-listenable.

Beers on right now- had some good lockout, WJC, and other hockey talk an hour ago when I was in the car.

He seems pretty frustrated but did say one idea he has been hearing is Fehr knew the owners would take this to the 11th hour and then take the best deal

says with owners its about ego and greed in some and players pride (gee, wonder what side he is on)

A friend of mine told me in 1994-5 when they had a lockout the draft was pushed back to July is this right?

Beers said in 1995 there were less teams and it will be harded to get 48 in a shorter time frame this time, guess more complex scheduling

I like Zo. Gresh sucks though. I find Gresh almost as bad as The Big Show and D&C. All of them are tough to stomach. That's when I go to 92.9

On the Beers comments, I think he is right. The players lost badly in 2004. The owners created this current system and then found loopholes in their own writing. Play fair, or shut up. It is not the job of labor to manage the affairs of management. If you can't do it, hire someone who can. They are trying to subsidize Bettmen's failed southern experiments on the back of labor. Go Beers!

I love Zo. Gresh is grating but he knows his stuff. I love Felger and Mazz and Johnston and Flynn. Wiggy isn't too bad either. I will always love Troop. He got screwed by the Sox.

Seriously. Goucher and McAdam...that was just phenomenal sports radio. The difference between them and Gresh/Zolak is like comparing the 10-11 Bruins with the 05-06 team.

Gresh/Zolak are knowledgeable about one sport, and even then, it's surprising how shallow that knowledge really is, and it doesn't come close to making up for the fact that their voices individually and collectively are awful.

I was excited to hear McAdam/Goucher on Christmas Eve day thinking they'd be talking lockout and Red Sox hotstove but it was all about Tebow refusing to do the wild cat..very dissapointing. Gresh and Zo have grown on me but they can insufferable during Pats season, especcily after Zo has about a half a dozen energy drinks and starts using all the technical football terms describing certain plays

The lack of depth on football/lack of knowledge of other sports would be okay if Gresh wasn't so condescending to everyone. That's what really bothers me. I could tolerate Zo if he were paired with a different host. He's goofy, but if you had someone who could reel him in and play up his strengths, he'd be fine. Gresh isn't that guy though.

Gresh is a fool.

Chewed out someone last week because they demanded more NHL talk and he said there is nothing to talk about since nothing is happening. Then Goucher and McAdam get on there Christmas Eve as I am driving around all day with last minute errands and they talk tons of NHL and the lockout.

Nothing to talk about eh Gresh? You flippin phony!

Agreed. In terms of hockey, they know some of the basics, but every time you think they could be turning a corner, with regard to improving their hockey expertise, they (namely Gresh) make an asinine comment.

Does anyone remember last month when they were talking about the future of the salary cap? Gresh said that if it's lowered they would have some decisions to make by either trading players who were currently under contract or not extending players who were upcoming UFA's. Gresh said that "well, that might potentially mean the Bruins not extending Bergeron since he's a UFA in 2014." I was driving in Wellesley, on my way to grab a bite to eat for lunch, and I nearly crashed my car into the store when I heard that.

Gresh IS a moron, but really, what is there to talk about at this point? I think most people are disgusted to the point that they don't even want to hear about the NHL until a deal is actually signed. I care about the Bruins more than the C's, Pats and Sox combined, but even I don't want to hear about the NHL at this point.

Yet you come to this board.

If you listened you would know that they were breaking down a lot of things that happened, are happening and the potential of what could happen.

These are the exact things that many people don't want to hear at this point. What happened, what's happening, what's going to happen, etc.... It's all aggravating because of how unnecessary this has all been. "Wake us when it's over" is the mindset that I think the majority of fans have.

And I'm here because I pretty much reached the end of the internet at work.

Almost 2 years of failure since getting rid of Dale and Holley. WEEI got destroyed again.
