Good for them.

Sundin is one of the best international players ever.

People forget Henderson scored 3 game winners in the '72 series.

3 game winning goals in an 8 game series is impressive.

Then to have one of those goals be the defacto biggest international goal scored not only in Canada but EVER in Hockey...

He deserves it.

Great that Henderson gets mentioned. I never lived it, but my elementary school teachers would always remind us about it. They've been through a lot, and that was one of the proudest moments they had as a Canadian.

Paul Henderson is a natural Canadian treasure that scored the famous goal winning his country/team and champions in the 1972 summit series.

Those of us around at the time were glued to our TV/radio sets, and remember to this day what we were doing when that Henderson goal went in.

Recognition for his accomplishment in the IIHF Hockey Hall of fame is well deserved.

Agreed but even more impressive was the fact that he scored the series last 3 game winning goals. Canada was down and looked like they had an insurmountable climb against the surprising Russians. Henderson scored the winner each game to give Canada the Series. Unbelievable that he is not in the HHOF, imo.

I remember that series and those GWGs.
Paul Henderson is a national hero and thus, a IIHF hero. Canada is hockey, that is all.
