Not at all. Bergfors was second in rookie scoring at the time of the trade, IIRC, behind Tavares. Cormier was a decent prospect. Oduya had flashes of offensive flair and was an okay 2nd/3rd pair tweener.

Profit.
Probably more like Sestito coming in for a game or two, unfortunately.

Well, Volchenkov is the main reason we set a PK record last year, no? So he should have some kind of value... anyways, that's what I keep reading around here

I know or Pesonen if we're lucky. Butler if we're really lucky. I wonder what happens with Tedenby next. Do we keep tendering him qualifying offers like we do with Corrente

We still do need someone for the top 6 cause Tedenby was supposed to play in that role after camp. I really want Butler to be it.

He clearly has no future here. Trade him for a 6th rounder before he bolts for the SEL for good. Screw it.

I have a bad feeling they'll try him again here next year or down the road this year. If they don't trade him though he has two options. Play in the A, or go back to Sweden.

Still try not to think that we took him over Jersey boy Carlson.

DeBoer said Tedenby has "NHL skills", but has to learn to "make plays when plays are there and not force it."

Especially when Carlson said he wanted the Devils to select him prior to the draft.

Bergfors was about the same as Tedenby, maybe a bit better.
Oduya's contract looked like an awful deal.
Cormier was up for murder in Canada.

The coaching staff isn't there to figure out of he can cut it or not. They're there to win games and try and find the "perfect match" to compliment IK and Travis. IMO, Matteau and Zubrus are the style of forwards that should play with them cause they go hard to net, aren't scrared to go in the corners and fight for loose pucks, their board work is second to none, etc, etc, etc... basically everything Tedenby isn't.

Chances aren't given to rookies, you have to earn your way up to the top line and not expect DeBoer to hand you a spot with the big boys. Tedenby hasn't proved to anyone since arriving with our team that he's top #6, New Jersey Devils hockey material and that's why he's getting the run around.
And all that logic is never used when you talk about Larsson. Then you think we should sit our seasoned vets to nurture a young talent.

Bergfors put up just about as many points with the Devils that half season than Tedenby has in 105 games for the Devils

Bergfors wasn't making bad decisions with the puck and he was able to stay on the puck unlike Tedenby, his defense and hustle was what didn't fly with Lemaire

If they aren't there to baby and "develop" him then what is he doing on the bench?

Wasn't really aimed at you but I got a stern talking to from the men in charge to start quoting more so. Like this

Larsson has said it's hard down there in the AHL where there's less of a system and he likes keeping up to game speed with the NHLers.

I think he has a lot more to gain from getting special attention from Stevens and practicing under DeBoer than playing in a pretty meh Albany team.

That's why u don't make a decision on a player after 2 games. And that goes for the recent 2 games as well.

Tedenby Sent Down

Tedenby really has been a headache.

I've long believed he has the skill set to succeed, but I think he struggled to keep his head in the game on a consistant basis.

We break it down and try to figure out who may be called up and what it means for the roster moving forward

I don't know if I agree with him learning more practicing with Stevens for an hour a day versus playing games and practicing there. It wasn't as if he was shutting down the AHL or lighting it up either.

If we're expecting him to hop into the lineup at a moment's notice, I think there's definitely an advantage to having him with DeBoer and Stevens everyday.

Back to the topic.

Watching Ennis - tears of joy.

Watching Tedenby - tears of sadness.

Le sigh.
