If he's on the first line with Kovy and Zajac he better get 15+ minutes of ice time.

Is that confirmed or just a guess?

If it is true, that's what you call showcasing a prospect for a pending deal. I just don't see how you can go from behind benched midway threw a game when playing on a 3rd line to end up on the 1st line the very next game.

Exactly, that`s what I meant by "trade is coming" in the other thread.

I agree with DATW that definitely smells like a Tedenby showcase. Maybe he'll be part of a Benn deal? That would be sick but I doubt it. If we could land any legit top 6 player that would be nice.

I'm reading into that with a trade in mind though. If there's no showcasing going on, then it's just Pete not trusting him at all based on history. Pete being Pete with the kids. I can't blame him to a degree - it got us pretty far being tough on the kids last year too.
It's either the trade route or the beginning of the end for his days to remain up with the big club. The clock is ticking on Matteau's 5 games and this may be the 2 game evaluation to send one packing back to the minors/juniors. Give him top line time and he will either sink or swim.

If he hasn't learned the Devils system and attention to detail in the defensive zone in 3+ years he never will. I wish him the best but I just don't see him amounting to much.

Prove me wrong you little ****er.

He better play responsible defense, if not that line may remain intact for one or two shifts. I hope the kid has a good game.

I think I'm fairly reasonable, level headed, and patient... Definitely a hockey fan.

I don't believe in Mattias.

I am thinking a postive game out of that little guy. Doesn't have to get the points but overall solid play is where I want him to be at.

Even Pete has this mentality that he has to score. I seem to remember him saying the same thing last year a couple months into the season.

I don't think it's a showcase. I think this move is being made to benefit Elias. He hasn't played well thus far, and he has good chemistry with Zubrus. Not so much with Tedenby.

If he does stick with the top line for a few games he has to produce points. Bottom line, because if he doesn't he can start looking for a permanent house in Albany. This is the chance all pro-Teddy people have wanted for him. Put up pts and figure out the dzone damn quick or youre gone.

Tedenby definitely has good hands and amazing skating ability. His passing and hockey IQ leave something to be desired to me.

And to be frank, guys who put up points do it at every level. Prime example? Henrique. He's productive at every level, without having to be a supreme talent. Tedenby skates better than he does, and has slicker hands. But the "hockey IQ" just isn't there when I've watched him at least... But he could always get better.
