My honest and unbiased (I´m an Ilves fan thought ) question:

Dude, where´s my Hannes?

The rest of the roster looks ok to me.

Lets hope they have hired a professional bus driver. We don´t want Pasi to drive the bus, do we? :lol

I am hyped for every tournament with the Lions, seems like people with that interest seem to become fewer and fewer for every year

i lost faith in noronen last world championships
i have yet to lose faith in pasi

pasi to start, underline his competition for the world championships starter/backup with kiprusoff and hopefully lehtonen

I gained faith in him... He had a couple of bad games, but that position wow.

I see Pasi as given as the World Champs starter already...

I like World Cup, Olympics, World Junior Championships and men's Championships, but I don't like these mid-season euro-tournaments. They're just so futile, especially when they always pick the same guys. These tournaments could be the chance to really try something new, but no... Kiprusoff, A-J Niemi, Hagman, Jantunen, Pärssinen, Kallio... *sigh* Boring.... Where's Raipe, for instance?

Well, on the other hand you have to give some respect to these players, because they're always ready to play for Team Finland. I'm also moderately interested to see Louhi, Voutilainen and Uhlbäck in action, and I hope they get some decent ice-time.

I wouldn't care if they had Helminen, Lintu, Kiprusoff and Sihvonen on the team... I'd still be as interested, since the crest of the jerseys is our beloved lion.

The lines were very different from what I wanted as Finland lost 3-4 to russia in OT.

Hagman - Pirnes - Kallio
Väänänen - Söderholm

Jantunen - Filppula - Uhlbäck
Mäntylä - Puistola

Hentunen - Voutilainen - Pärssinen
Kiprusoff - Niemi

Louhi - Pakaslahti - Ruutu/Rita
Saravo
Nurminen was in goal.

Hopefully Berg will play in next game and Ruutu get some more icetime.

The reason to the NHLers having small roles is probably to see how well the other players who are sure to stay in europe would fare.

Mikko Luoma (Malmö IF) has taken Aki-Petteri Berg's place on the roster.

An even weaker game today, but luckily Noronen kept the numbers down. The Czechs could have had 4 or even 5 more goals....
Nice comeback in the third period, but still no clutch scorer emerging for the world champs...

Suomi - Czech Republic 2-3 OT. (0-1, 0-0, 2-1, 0-1)

14.01 0-1 Josef Vasicek (Jaroslav Bednar)
50.29 1-1 Timo Pärssinen (Petri Pakaslahti, Esa Pirnes)
53.10 2-1 Toni Söderholm (Petri Pakaslahti)
59.25 2-2 David Vyborny (Vaclav Prospal, Marek Zidlicky) yv. im.
62.04 2-3 Jaroslav Bednar (Petr Kadlec)

Goaltenders
Mika Noronen 15+14+17+1=47
Adam Svoboda 4+12+10+1=27

Yeah he has been awesome. It´s great that he didn´t stay in North America too long. I consider him as one of the best big rink players.

That World Champs on line with Miettinen and Kapanen sure showed it! Broken arm and still was a threat out there...
