Excellent, think the Bears have a great chance tonight
Agreed. Kaepernick should commit at least 2 turnovers tonight. I think our defense can win this for us by giving us great field position. As long as we control time of possession by committing to the run game, this is a winnable game.
Well they are at home, and remember that doesn't necessarily mean they are a 5-point favorite, but Vegas thinks that spread presents themselves with the best opportunity to make money.

Oh I know... team usually get spotted 3 points on the line for being home, which makes it close to even. Although can't say I'm really intimidated by their baseball field of a stadium or their fans.

Kaepernick won't complete a pass that travels more than 10 yards beyond the LOS.
Bears are great at baiting young QB's into throwing bad passes. Just have to keep Kaepernick in the pocket and not let him bust off any big runs....make him throw the ball down field.

I'd go man-to-man in the secondary, and pull the safeties in for sure.
I know they have a great defense and all, although they have given up some points... but IMO, this is a team we should beat right now with their current QB situation. If any of you saw Kaepernick after Smith was out... He looked unbelievably bad. Not bad in a sense that reps will help him get on the same page has his teammates. I mean bad as in he has no throwing fundamentals at all, and looked his passes after he released them looked like he tried throwing the ball and he held it sideways.

Because of San Fran's run game, they'll play a lot of single high saftey. Will only see them run cover 2 on obvioius passing downs. The ends have to make sure to not over run the play and let Kaepernick scramble for 10-20 yards regularly.

Honestly, I'm not terrified of their run game when you factor in that we will be stacking the box all night. Kaepernick sneaking out is the only thing I am a little concerned with, but I doubt he can successfully do it all night long.

Its going to be important to get off the field on 3rd down and not turn the ball over. The defense can't stay on the field for 40 minutes like they did against Houston.

No kidding... Not worried about turning the ball over, but am worried about being able to sustain drives to keep the defense off the field.
On the other hand, I also have faith in the defense keeping themselves off the field with many failed 3rd down conversions for the Niners tonight.
Good to see Smith is out. Bears still have an uphill battle tonight. San Fran at home on Monday night has some incredible record. Kaepernick is probably going to frustrate the Bears a bit by running around.
Keeping my fingers crossed for a different Campbell this week, with full reps. He actually has a great looking deep ball when he does throw it.

Need to keep him inside the pocket. He struggles there, and has a pretty long windup. He was actually drafted as a pitcher, and you can see part of his baseball background when he throws the ball. That, and he was always a more accurate passer outside of the pocket from what I've read and that he'd use his great arm strength to be able to fire the ball to his WRs while on the run... but struggles with his feet set and has some funky footwork.
