Landeskog has slightly more offensive upside so I vote him.

Right now Brown, because he's proven. I guess Landeskog might eclipse him in a few seasons though but that's still uncertain, so I'll go with the safe player.

I think people will overwhelmingly vote Brown... They're not necessarily wrong as he is much more proven.. but it'll be unfair to Landeskrog. What he accomplished in his rookie year is simply unbelievable. If he duplicates that, he'll undoubtedly be one of the best forwards in the league. 100% serious.

He took on the toughest assignments - being matched up against the Sedins, Toews, Thorntons, Datsyuk's of the NHL... And he crushed them territorially. At age 18. It would have been a big win for the Avs if Landeskrog was able to play them to a draw, but he outright dominated.

If he continues to do that, the points will certainly come, both for him and for the Avalanche. Kid is unreal. Over the next 3 NHL seasons I have no doubt he'll be universally regarded as a Selke candidate and a top-15,20 forward in the league.

He's a nice player but he didn't "dominate" Thornton, Sedins, Toews, or Datsyuk... I agree he will be a great player but the way you're describing it, he already is one of the best players in the NHL.

Landeskog had a better 2011-2012 season than Brown IMO and he's only 19, pretty easy choice.

Landeskog. The numbers he put up this year are pretty much what Brown has been averaging the last 3 years, and this was only his rookie year. His ceiling is also high and I can see him becoming a dominant physical winger.

Well I think Brown is better now, amazing playoffs but would take Landeskog here.

Never ever bet against a Swede.

I think they are at a similar level right now.. slight edge to Brown but not by much. Going forward I would definately take Landeskog.

At the time I made this poll Brown hadn't been enjoying his solid playoff outing. I would also consider Backes better than Brown and Callahan as his equal.

So using people's previous opinions I feel justified in naming Landeskog the superior player right now and as having the superior upside.

I believe Landeskog will be a level or two above Brown when he peaks.

You should probably say you are not a fan of Kesler's diving either before the swarms arrive.

This thread has nothing to do with him. Do they need to know how I feel about everyone else that dives too?

I was saying it half jokingly, but I guess you want an argument.

And for the record, it's cute that you think the bolded matters. It should. But it usually doesn't. "Brown is a diver." "Says the Canucks fan."

I don't WANT an argument but am not in the mood & your joking doesn't help that. You might have said it half jokingly but you know people will be making that point now. Thanks

Landeskog is better defenisvely, he's better offensively (Or soon will be), he's more physical, he's got more intangibles than Mr. Intangibles himeslf Jonathan Toews. Plus he's significantly younger and has more room to grow. Landeskog is a franchsie player. Brown is a borderline first liner, probably a high end second liner.

Plus Landeskog is one of the most humble, personable players in the league. Brown's cocky (Difference between cocky and confident), a guy that seems like an overly disliked player across the league, and he's probably the leagues most consistent diver.

Now I know I made Brown sound like a bad player, but I'm not really saying that. The gaps probably not as big as the poll suggests, but there is a gap.

Landeskog.

Personally I think his ceiling is a tad higher then Dustin Brown at his best, but that is ceiling we're talking about and I do think Landeskog will end up fairly the same as Brown. So if I think of them as basically the same, then why would I choose Landeskog over Brown who is proven? Simply because Brown is now 28 years old and will be 29 years old when the next season starts (assuming no hockey this season). This means he'll be declining real soon most likely. And of course if we're taking real life context in place, Landie also gets the benefit of having two more seasons of ELC (or 1 more or something else entirely depending on what happens with the CBA) then being an RFA vs Brown's contract ending in 2 years where he can become a UFA.
