1 week til' Manchvegas

In 1 week me and the girlfreind will be rolling into ManchVegas. I was wondering where the narchs practice as I wanted to get a couple of rookie game worn jerseys autoraphed by Brown and Gleason. It'll be a little weird because this is the first time I wil be asking someone younger than me for an autograph. I'm starting to feel old here at 24. I was definately looking forward to matching a couple of faces to the screen names at a game. We are staying across the street from the Verizon and are hoping for good weather. The 40's would be great. I could even tolerate the 20's with no wind. I'll probly be the only one in town walking around in Shorts, sandles, and a Kings jersey. So if you see a cold idiot walking around getting yelled at by his girlfreind you'll know its me. She is so pissed I took her to Manchester instead of Hawaii. I've got to supress these hockey withdrawls though.

P.S. Wheres a good place to get wicked piss drunk. J/K

The Monarchs practice at the VWA and practices are closed to the public. On occasion, they practice at a rink in the next town over however this is typically only when the VWA is iced out which is not likely while your going to be in town.

There are several drinking establishments withing staggering distance from the hotel you're staying in:

Strange Brew Tavern on Market Street

www.strangebrewtavern.info

The Black Brimmer on Elm Street

www.blackbrimmer.com

The Wild Rover Pub on Kosciuszko Street

http://www.wildroverpub.com

There are more pubs but these tend to be the more popular ones with the locals...

It's a shame you aren't coming this week, your going to miss the 14-18 inches of snow expected from the noreaster tonight and tomorrow...

They say they allow "non-professional" cameras but nobody has ever been able to get a definition of a non-professional camera out of management. I suggest you send a PM to ReggieMoto on this board about the camera question...

A personal camera is fine. I've brought in a digital and my brother has taken in one of 'dem old filming-eatting ones.

Enjoy the city; no, it is not Hawaii but there is a lot to offer--including the premier All-Star game in North America. There are some nice restaurants and sandwich shops in the city and just outside of it. If you want suggestions, feel free to ask or PM me. I am sure there are lots of us around here that wouldn't mind helping you out.

However, I will suggest at least wearing long pants. There can be some nice wind gusts in between some of those buildings on Elm street--and if there is even the slightest cold spell...your legs will be begging to be covered!

Enjoy the game--certainly wish I could be there.

Lobster is always in season--it's New England! Seriously, it is not the "official season" but it is the eqivilant of asking whether it's beef season in Texas.

Check out Tinker's Seafood--best in the city in my opinion. It is off of exit 9S on route 93--take a left at your second set of lights. Good luck!

The Verizon Arena's basic rule of thumb regarding cameras they'll allow in the arena is, if it has a detachable lens it won't be allowed in the arena. I sent them email a week or so back asking a similar question because I wanted to bring in my camera for the ASG. However, they said it wouldn't be allowed in due to the detachable lens.

Well since I was in Manchester last month I can give you a few tips, lol. If you are staying at the Raddison (perfect) it's seriously right across the street. Hopefully it does not snow on you. We wanted to visit Boston b/c it's 45 minutes away but did not go b/c of the weather. Wear layers. At night my legs got super cold walking around. Just to let you know there is not a whole lot to do if you don't do research. Practices are closed off to the public. After the games we have spoted players at JD Taverns. If you eat there DO NOT order the California salad unless you like the smell of nail polish remover. I took my dig camera to all the games and took about 300 pics. I posted them on LGK. Maybe you can touch base with ReggieMotto and he help you find great seats like he did for us Just a little fyi all the bars close early the latest is 1. You can smoke inside everywhere yuck! Strangebrew is a nice bar. They offer budlight for 1.75 a bottle. Thursday is ladies night all drinks 1/2 off. we spent 25 including tip for 7 drinks. Wild rover is ok, it's small and more of the metal group. Have a great trip.

Thanks fot the info on the bars. It is greatly appreciated. As for the revlon salad I am more of a Beer-Steak-Potato-Seafood guy so I should be OK. It sounds like my girlfreinds ron jeremy lense camera aint making it in the Verizon. As for Boston we are lucky that she has family in the Boston area (inlaws can be use for something). That should help us get around from city to city. If worse come to worse I'll just bring my new CCM's and I'll skate her there.

Typically they practice at Tri-Town arena in Hookset...but I don't believe the practices are open to the public, unfortunately.

Just for hoping for good weather, it is now gonna be horrible. Seriously, that's how it works. Whenever someone visits, it goes from acceptable weather to 13 degrees and 8 inches of snow.
