Best defensive forwards

I got to see Haskins play for the first time and was really impressed by his defensive play. Who are some of the other good defensive forwards in the league? Oulahan is another one that's impressed me, and of course there's Richards. Anyone think they can make a top 10 list?

Oulahen you already covered.

Others that I could mention are:

Steadman
Larman
Smolenak
Griffith
Shennan
Sestito

I'd throw Ryan Card (Guelph) and John Mitchell (Plymouth) in a top 10 list.

Oulahen, Richards, and Steadman are the first that come to mind for me.

The Attack have put Brad Richardson in every situation during his whole career in Owen Sound...you don't put a guy out penalty killing nowadays without some defensive ability

Steadman is only decent during the regular season, but is always a top notch shut down guy when the playoffs come around.

Card's a defenceman.

1)Oulahen
2)Richards
3)Vigilante
4)Blaho
5)Martynowski
6)Bolland
7)(Tim) Sesito
8) Haskins
9) Steadman
10) Garlock

Just off the list: Galasek, Larman, Haley and Fuller. Jordan Staal, Bass and Lynes are up and coming high end defensive forwards.

Good call on Martynowski - he doesn't get a lot of attention, but he's a definite for the list.

Tom Pyatt is another young one that should turn out to be a good defensive forward.

Yeah, a checker is all he really was in Kitchener, now he's a darn good two way player!

He's another good one, probably one of the hardest working players in the league. Josh Bealieu is a young guy who has become quite the defensive player in the last couple mounths aswell, but because of his slow start this year (especially in his own end) I'll wait until the end of the season before predicting he'll be a defensive force for years to come.

what about Cody Bass? He was decent with Canada U-18 in the World Cup in Slovakia.Bass played a good defensive game , was an excellent penalty killer.

I'd have to say Larman would be up there with Steadman. Bolland is a very good defensive player too, but probably not top 10.

Daniel Ryder is one of the best I have seen in the East.

I agree With Jordan Staal, hes going to be great, doing well for a 16yr old rookie

Just off the list: Galasek, Larman, Haley and Fuller. Jordan Staal, Bass and Lynes are up and coming high end defensive forwards.[/QUOTE]
