Danny Picard ‏@DannyPicard
Per #NHL player in meeting: NHLPA made proposal to Bill Daly, who will now report it to owners. NHLPA now in "wait & see" mode.

That being said, if the length is the players' biggest hangup they need to smack themselves.

You fail to mention that the owners are also pushing VERY hard for a 5 year contract limit, which is something no sport has. Again...the owners aren't saints.
Owners came up from 211 million to 300. Pennies, right? Struggling franchises (which may not always struggle) doesn't entail there will be another lockout.

... and 5 year contract limits are smart for the owners and not the players. It doesn't make them "not saints." It promotes healthy contracts, which promotes both league and owner health.

Pension is done and transition payments have been settled.

We are getting much closer to them resolving this.

Fehr thinks deal will be done in the near future.

Contract max of 8(contract) years from players. 25% variance on contracts.

There will be a vote for when a proposed agreement is reached says Fehr

Contract max of 8 years is fine. 5 is just too short.

As Flyer fans, we know Homer's general MO with franchise players...overpay in the short term so they're cheaper in their prime. 5 year deals hurts our own ability to do that. That's pretty much my own selfish reasoning behind opposing 5 year deals. I don't know what the players' reasoning is.

Fehr's remarks about the problems of CBA being 10 years in length is spot on.

1) Players coming in in yrs 5-6 won't have been a part of the process.
2) Economics could change.

Fehr says "players made lion share of the movement" in talks.

EVERYTHING IS HAPPENING!!!!

NHLPA accepted NHL "make whole" offer.

It's all a load of BS until the NHL responds with the same thoughts. Not going to get too excited.

Players will be paying for their own pensions. They're doing it not at all like I thought they were (owners giving it as a perk--100% wrong I was).

I'm not sure I like the NHLPA making their terms public before the owners really get a chance to review them. Turning these talks into a PR war can't be bueno.

Major issue, the money is settled. NHLPA agreed to NHL's offer of "make whole". Not much left that has to be hashed out besides contracts and whichever the transition rules will be. But they settled the biggest distractions causing this lock out. It could move extremely quickly now.

Tomorrow is my birthday.

If the lockout is settled tomorrow, then I'll finally have a reason to celebrate December 7th!

Well...every bit of good news we've heard the last few days has served only to increase our disappointment when things fail. I won't believe this is different until it's different.

Rampant speculation that it is bad news.

Saying he might just be clarifying something.
