Kings team when NHL comes back

This is my first post yet I have been reading these forums for 2 years. This should probably be under trades forum yet i was wondering what all you think the Kings team will look like when NHL resumes (if it ever does :mad. Kings are obviously going to pick up a few free agents with there 24million team salary right now and trades will be made. So with this how do you think our lines will look when NHL resumes

Well........from one new guy to the next, you and I have been reading these boards for awhile now and finally joined the show. Good thread I must say, I like the young guys alot.. I would get rid Straka-sucks, Esa Pirnes-I don't now how he got here, Holland and maybe Joe C. Find a place for Rullier and leave Klatt alone too. Barney, Brown,Cammalleri,Gleason, and Grebeshkov make the team. Tambellini, Boyle and Tukonen are locks and are a few years away I guess.

I'd love to see ryan skate on a third line, but he cant skate well enough... I hope in the future eric neilson can fill that third line role with Flinn on the fourth..

You wrote their current lines as are. What i wanted to see is who everyone thinks will be picked up via free agency and who will be traded and then what our lines will look like. All players you add or subtract write via how (UFA, trade, etc...)

That is more what i meant nice reply. I can see murray and kariya with us we were close with both of them before lockout - I'd really most like to see lindros with his injury prone he would fit PERFECT in LA. Ya i dont really like kariya he is jackass so i'd rather get demitra

I got you.........I think we still need a power forward (center), not sure who though. I like Murray, he was a king, I like to bring him back via ufa. A trade at this point is dumb....who are you going to give up....most of our current talent are our young guys. I only like the ufa route...Go out a buy a hugh center and sign Zig and murray and then were fine.....and watch the young guys grow...... we have alot of young exciting talent...2-3 years is going to be fun....... Marty

Robitaille, Straka & Cechmanic will be off the roster. I think Quintal signed a 1 yr deal. He may be off the roster as well. Unless Robitaille signs for one more year he will not be part of the clubs payroll when play resumes.

Frolov/Conroy/Brown
Klatt/Lehoux/Cammy
Cowan/Avery/?
?/Belanger/Kostopoulos

Norstrom/Gleason
Dempsey/Miller
Visnovski/Quintal or Corvo

Garon
Houser

Hopefully Lehoux is finally ready. He could be LA's future #1 center. Bourdeux said Lehoux reminded him of Lecavalier. I wouldn't go that far, but the comparison was nice.

There are a lot of holes to fill.

If there is no hockey this year my lines for next season would be somewhat different.
Fro-Conroy-Murry, Brown, O'neil , ufa
Klatt-Army-Barney,Cammy
TK-Avery-Cowen
Clarke-Pirnes-Flinn, Neilson

Call-ups Lehoux, Schmidt, Kanko, Smyth, (not likely parros, Hogeboom)

Matty-Dempsey
Vis-Miller(until traded)
Gleason-Corvo , Rullier, Holland

Call-ups Grebs, Weaver, Rullier, Ziska, Petiot

Garon-Hauser

Manchester should still put out a nice product. Thoughts on their lines?

Klatt's option kicked in last season. So the kings extended his contract for 2 years. So he will be here for 1 more year when play resumes.

I forgot about Armstrong.

Frolov/Conroy/Klatt
Cammy/Armstrong/Brown
Cowan/Belanger/Avery
TK/Prines/?

They may resign Klatt, and I wouldn't be shocked to see Goeff Sanderson signed

If the league starts March 1st

Frolov-Conroy-Klatt
Robitalle-Armstrong-Straka
Avery-Belanger-Cowan
Kostopolous-Cammy-Brown

The key is that the 4th line gets at least 10 minutes a game for their development.
If things worked right the 2nd and fourth lines should have about equal minutes, and be a line that is a mentoring line for the fourth line.

Gleason-Miller
Grebeshkov-Norstrom
Dempsey-Visnovsky
Extra:Quintal

I know that Quintal didn't sign here to be a 7th d-man, however, Gleason and Grebs are in playing shape. The only other guy who may be in shape is Visnovsky. The others are playing pickup which will take them time to adapt back into the game. In a 30 game season, the guys who are going to be the best players are the guys that have been playing either in the AHL or in Europe. Therefore, I am concerned about how guys like Norstrom, Miller, Dempsey, Quintal, Robitalle, Klatt, and Conroy will be when they start. Pickup at Healthsouth is much different than the real thing.

Also, one thing to remember regardless of when the season starts are visas. Main concern would be getting guys like Visnovsky and Frolov back into the country. This seems to always happen before the season, and with everything (if the season starts) potentially happening at the speed of light to jumpstart a season, this is probably going to be a common thing for most teams.

Awards:
i believe some of the players that are playing in europe can't come back once the nhl season resumes...these guys have a drop dead date where they have to commit to their respective european teams for the rest of their season...and those dates i believe has passed.

so, might as well scratch off frolov, army and straka on your line combos...

I'll start with the departures
Cechmanek, Straka, Armstrong, Robitaille, Quintal, and Miller

Brown-Conroy-Camellarri
Frolov-Lehoux-Murray
Kostopolus-Belanger-Klatt <--he hit the numbers to trigger a third year
Flynn/Smyth-Pirnes-Avery

Norstrom-Gleason
Visnovski-Corvo
Dempsey-UFA

Garon/UFA

Bottom line is that line up doesn't look very impressive. This is the safe bet though. I think that our blueline needs some work. Grebs needs another year in the AHL. This should be a growing process. In three years we could mature into a powehouse. To do so thpugh we need a offensive Defensemen standout. A top line center prospect, and some blue chip nasty rearguards.
