Well yah, Cloutier has sounded solid, I forgot about him...

Smith has sounded ok, but took two silly offensive penalties...

Nolan? I've barely heard anything on him...

WCE definitely not showing up until later in the preseason i guess...

Our offense took the first two periods off, I wonder if they'll show up in the third.

I'm not surprised to see WCE not produce during the preseason, it's not as if they've got anything to prove. I would wager that nazzy, bert, and mo are playing at about 60%.

A poor showing from virtually every Canuck forward...11 shots with 5 minutes left in the 3rd...

Only guys standing out at all-Jovo, Jokela and Cloutier...

A pretty uninspired performance all around. That's to be expected at some points during a 10 game preseason schedule though. Let's hope that they get it out of their systems before the regular season starts.

WCE have been quiet since game 6 against Minnesota. Screw the playing at 60%, get your game back!

i cannot believe what i am reading consider this is only a PRE-SEASON game, and it is the third game out of 10 pre-season games. Hasek gave up 3 goals in 14 shots two days ago, i think HASEK needs to get his game back immediately too Just take a pill and relax.

Very true. I'm glad the Oilers won tonight (finally), but this game + 25 cents won't buy a jolly rancher come October. It's all about evaluation and working the kinks out of systems. I'm sure Naslund and Bert will be playing like Naslund and Bert once the games start to matter, just like every other team and their veterans who're only trying to get warmed up and stay away from injuries.

Still, it was nice to see Hemsky remember how to shoot the puck again.

Oh Jewelly...methinks Spiny needs a change of wardrobe, at least until the next Nucks game.

Today's lesson: never bet on a preseason game

Aggg, I knew you'd come calling; was keeping a low profile too.

Alright then, fix Spiny up.

Glad I only had to listen to and not watch that travesty.

Obviously the only guys trying were the prospects and they couldn't get much done.

I found Cloutier and Jovo to be quite solid and nothing led me to believe Allen was incredibly shakey after the initial slip up.

Bad effort overall...other then on our PK, which seems to be what Crow was working on tonight with some of the prospects getting rounds out there.

No worries, we'll sweep the Oiler's in the regular season like last year.

That's about as close as the Canucks got to goal tonight.

Edit: Didn't Shorty say that the 'Nucks were wearing their "road whites" tonight? Sure doesn't look like it.

Cloutier got the third star of the game and Jovo played pretty solid from what I heard.

But like someone said earlier, the top line will start showing up in the regular season. It is just a pre season game... nothing counts, and the guys know it. I'm sure they were just playing around. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

Ick. A good showing from Cloutier is about all we can take away from this.

Well, that and the PK looked good.

But seriously, couldn't get anything going offensively. Needs to change.

That's an old picture.. taken from last year. The pictures at canucks.com are always out of date.

But that's the 'Nucks official website. You'd think of anyone... they'd be up to date.

I feel so betrayed.

BTW: anyone care to explain that bizzare goaltending change when Vics frozen body made it to the net just in time to let in the second goal?

Just finished watching some of the TV highlights, and the Oilers were in their dark uni's...not sure where your picture came from...

However, I know where THIS picture came from:

I was wondering that myself. It was probably to check Cloutier's equipment or something.

And our PK was awsome tonight. I would have liked it better if we didn't take so many penalties... but it's good to know that our PK was solid.

Can someone tell me why Dan Cloutier is playing so much in the pre-season? i guess it is just weird to me because Burke has mentioned all summer that he is trying to find some way to decrease the burden on Cloutier so Cloutier will be 100% heading into the playoff but Cloutier played the whole game tonight with 7 pre season games to go. For example, Tommy Salo only played half of the game tonight.
