Straight to a shootout? Totally bogus. I was looking forward to some exciting hockey.

Ah, dang, it's just a stupid shootout.

EDIT: Still, good goal, Parise.

Wellwood was too slow.

Hilbert ends it, 3-0!

Miller = Hasek

Miller is my new favorite prospect.

Well Garon sure did suck there.

3-0 That sucks. At least let all 5 (per side) shoot, give us a better show.

I will never ever understand anyone who thinks seeing a shootout is exciting.

Yikes, Garon sure did do badly during the shootout. That's disappointing. Grebeshkov was pretty bad too.

I thought it was exciting.

I bet you that you'll see at least one of those goals on sportscenter.

Who was the usual defensmen out for the Parise/Brown/Bochenski line......they couldn't move a puck for the life of themselves. It may have been Grebs or Ballard.

Shootouts don't seem to be too beneficial to left-handed goaltenders.

Who would have thought Canada would get shutout in the second and third periods? Especially after that first period?

I think you're right.

I was SHOCKED by the game Hutchinson played. He's a Preds prospect I'm not all that high on, but offensively I thought he was Planet USA's best defenseman in terms of creating chances\passing. He didn't look as awful defensively as I would have expected, either.

Andy Hilbert, Michel Oulett and Tomas Plekanec impressed me over the past couple of days. Especially Hilbert- he seems like a very underrated prospect.

Aside from the goalies, it's hard to pick one player who really stood out tonight. Spezza seemed to stand out a bit- he had a few nice chances and made a couple nice setups. No surprise there though.

Not to me. The only thing I hate more than losing a shutout is *winning* a shootout.

It just ain't hockey.

Bergenheim impressed me a ton. Too bad he couldn't hit the net tonight (although he had 4 shots, he narrowly missed two or three great opportunities), or he could have had two or three.

I hear ya on that one. It was a great game, but the ending was so anti-climactic. I really hope this shootout fad dies out soon. I didn't like the the first time around when it was in the IHL, and I dislike it even more now.

The shootout is much better in person, (IMO, even though I still don't like it) but it really sucked even more watching it on TV.
