Congrats on that. That procedure of being a CPA is no joke. You folks deserve the big bucks after going through all of that.

Question for my fellow Pittsburghers here...

I went to Kelly O's this past weekend on 19. One of my favorite places to get breakfast, and they serve a dish called mush. Now mush is nothing more than polenta put in brick form, and then fried. Am I the only person who ate mush growing up? I was talking to guys at work today, and no one has ever heard of it. I've been eating it for breakfast my whole life. My mom would make it instead of pancakes.

I finally watched the Catfish movie that everyone talking about Manti has been referring to. It is....actually pretty interesting. Check it out, team.

Thanks for the congrats, everyone. Now, since it's tax season, send me your tax information and I will prepare your return - for a rather hefty fee...less a Penguins fan discount of course.

Good news!

My Uncles prostate cancer has gotten better. He lives in Nanimo. His PSA? has gone down from 30 to 23 thanks to his medication. I'm presuming that's the level/severity of his cancer?

Hopefully it keeps going down and he has another 20 years in him.

Taxes here in the US are due by April 15th unless you file paperwork for an extension.

What 10 Min. said.

March 15th is the deadline for corporations, April 15th is the deadline for individuals. However, you can get an extension to file, but not an extension to pay.

I'm working Monday through Thursday from 8 AM to 7 PM, Friday 8 AM to 6 PM, and Saturday 8 AM to 1 PM...Sundays are a day of rest, and sleep, and sometimes lots and lots fo drinking.

May have to buy a new laptop. Had this one for three years and a month.

Will likely get rid of at the end of the hockey season. I think If I buy one it'll be smaller as it can be hard to sit with this one sometimes.

I'm hopeful of keeping it though if my dad's friend can fix it.

Are you hourly? I work those kinds of hours 52 weeks a year, but if I wasn't hourly, not a shot I'd do it.

I need some input from business traveler types.

I am flying to another city for a multi-day event that includes a casual business dress day and two full-on business attire days.

I am just taking one suit, 2 dress shirts for that, a pair of khakis for that stuff.

Is it legit to take a garment bag with my suit in it on the plane? I've never paid attention before, so I am not sure what the "room to hang random people's suits" situation is.

Even if that is a go, I assume my bag would be way too bulky if I stuck all the shirts in with the suit. My shirts are all freshly back from the dry cleaners and are lightly starched. Should I just pack them into my checked back last and have them on top and hope they don't get too crushed?

I'm nervous, team. This event could lead to a legit job offer and a big increase in quality of life. I must look dapper.*

*Note: I've shaved with a safety razor/double edge for years, and I find it obnoxious that I can't take razor blades still in their package as a carry-on. I can take the shaver itself, but not blades. What madness is this?

I know, it doesn't make a lot of sense. It's mostly used for the big wigs that own a lot of businesses or just don't have their **** together. You basically have to "estimate" their tax owed and pay that by the deadline, then either make up the difference (with penalties) when the tax return is filed at the extended due date, or receive a refund for what was overpaid.

Our firm will often extend those returns that we know nothing is owed on just to focus our attention on the ones that need to get done by the deadline, if you know what I mean.

Nope, salary. Comes with the job. But bonuses and benefits more than make up for the long hours and stress for the first 3 and half months of the year.

Yeah, if you're getting bonuses then I guess that'd make up for not getting what would amount to probably a couple hundred hours of time and a half.

Overtime is the Devil though. I work more, to get more overtime, and then I have zero desire to even get out of bed when I'm not working.
