And a year ago it wasn't even close in the other direction. Duchene has a higher ceiling, is younger, and has reached a higher level of play, with his PPG pace before the trade deadline of his sophomore year. So the Avs sure as hell aren't going to add to Duchene to get Logan. I'm not talking about SJ here, they may hold a similar opinion of their player and would be justified in doing so, but for the Avs to even consider giving up Duchene for Couts, it's SJ who'd need to add.

Sanjose has better center depth and a better all around team then colorado, they dont need to do anything.
