Better, but they'd still decline.

Habs give up their franchise player (price), number one young d-man and patches only young forward with size. This proposal is one of the worst deals I have ever seen

Its not like Edmonton isn't giving up anything though. 3 out of their 4 "Big 4".

Value aside, I'd prefer to build around Price, PK and Pacioretty vs Hall, Eberle and Yakupov.

I dont think either team would consider this.

I tried making the lineups for both teams post trade and both teams actually get significantly worse from this trade.

So? If we make this deal, we need a goalie and D. Garbage trade proposal

seems like it!

doesn't work out well for the Oil unfortunately....

Price > Dubnyk....Oilers win here no question
Max Pac = Ebs....saw off in my book goal wise, though Ebs got a few more points
Horc > Gomez....Horc at least has a few points left in him, kind of a pointless trade
so that leaves Subban for Hall + Yak??
or is it Price + Subban for Dubnyk, Hall and Yak?
Oilers still lose because we give up an extra star player, and i personally feel that Subban is not a #1 d-man.

Not a chance either team accepts this kind of deal. Price isn't going anywhere and I doubt Patches is moved as well, they both received huge long term deals by Bergevin this past summer

Remove Price, Dubnyk and Hall and i think the deal gets better. Atleast for MTL it does.

Well for MTL there is

But if Edmonton wants a goalie than they should just trade for him and not half of the team

And besides you guys get Gomez, so..

Was there some event that set loose all of these Edmonton trade threads?

Gee I wonder what that event could have been. With all the hockey being played on the ice and all.

I'd agree Goalie/Defense/Forward is better than 3 forwards as a foundation.
