My honest opinion is that Kovy wouldn't pull the dick move on the Devils like some are fearing. Sure, we don't know him personally, but from everything he has shown us the last 2+ years, I think it's more than fair to say that he is a pretty standup guy. Imho, I think he has been nothing but class during his time in NJ and he seems to always have the best intentions. I mean even with his contract drama two summers ago. A big claim was that he just signed here because NJ was the highest bidder. I honestly can't fault him for getting as much as he could when that was all going down. He's one of the top talents in the world. But that doesn't mean that he just settled for NJ. Fom what I can tell, it looks like he is happy being a Devil and appreciates playing for the organization.
I can't say for sure what the exact reasons are, but my guess is that it's probably a repsect / appreciation thing in regards to his not returning yet. And if that's the case, I have no problem with him showing some love to his country / fans. At all. If anything, that speaks well of his character if you ask me. Who knows for sure, but I'm pretty much certain it has nothing to do with screwing over the Devils or their fans.

The sweet innocent smiling prince of Minnesota screwed us while petting a white bunny rabbit and speaking not through his agent; anyone can. Trust no one.
If Kovalchuk actually breaches his contract and doesn't come back, that's far, far worse than anything Parise did.
I think we're all agreement on that.
I think it's pretty far from reality that this will become an issue, though.

Most likely because they were spared the 24 hour speculation fest regarding his intents to come back and play in the NHL.
This was the cherry on top of a media sideshow regarding Kovalchuk.
ah, I didn’t realize she enjoyed st. petersburg…forget my last post, he’s probably staying in russia.
oh and- you've probably never even been to raleigh
Actually I have been all over the Research Triangle, tho not in a while. Point being Russia has many pluses for someone like Kovy. Especially where hes playing

Now that ****er, I never trusted him. I don't know if it was because he was one of Jamie's boys, or his father, but I just never trusted him for whatever reason.

Haha, sorry... didn't mean to hit a nerve. Was just playin'

(but there's a little truth to every joke)
:/
Lol, no worries. It's whatever with Parise. Don't like the way he left or how he led us all on, but he played hard for the team while he was here and did a great job, all things considered. No grudges here.
I kinda could tell Parise was leaving. Seemed like he was out to cash in on a big pay day. Even ignoring the one year contract. I get the feeling Kovy cares about more than money, but who knows?
Martin Brodeur is one of the only athletes that has always been loyal, and someone who's word you can trust. Most others are full of **** to me until proven otherwise.
The KHL's All-Star game is Sunday. The CBA making all NHL contracts void again is expected to be ratified Saturday afternoon. Saturday afternoon in North America is Sunday in Russia.
