It's almost becoming more of joke than Diaz. Only fights in Brazil because him doing TRT is banned everywhere else.

I just don't get it. Dana was all about getting rid of bad apples and drug users, but now he just seems to turn a blind eye if he likes you.

That is if he can make him money I mean.

Dan Henderson, Chael Sonnen, Forrest Griffin, Frank Mir, and Todd Duffee have all been cleared by the Neveda State Atheltic Commission for a therapeutic use exemption on TRT just like Vitor has been cleared for an exemption in Brazil

You really seem uneducated on most of the facts here, I'd suggest some more research

Should be banned. Dana doesn't like it yet he allows it to happen. I guess because the guys you mentioned make him money. Although Duffee is a red herring in there.

Do you know why guys take TRT?

Dana White is a fight promoter, not a sanctioning body in charge of regulating mixed martial arts. I don't think Dana has any say on this whatsoever. The bigger fish to fry here is the NSAC and Keith Kizer.

Can't Dana White have a drug policy that goes above and beyond?

He could also just not keep said fighters around or force them to fight in sanctioning bodies that these guys wouldn't be able to use TRT.

There is more than one fish to fry, but Dana has to have some power here.

There would be a large legal battle if Dana banned TRT from the UFC and the commissions left it the same. To be honest, I think you should only be allowed to get a TRT exemption if you are under 35. At that point it's generally from a medical reason, or because you were a wrestler in high school and college. I have low T and it's from concussions from playing hockey. Ian McCall has low T because of past illicit drug use and weight cutting and actually hasn't applied for an exemption because he doesn't want to piss off fans.

Basically I think you should only ever be denied a TUE if you are either over 35 or have failed a prior drug test for an anabolic steroid.

Caught pieces of the fight card Saturday. Learned a few things.

1. Argyll Casino has fights for free. Well Saturday's anyways.
2. Don't expect to watch the whole fight card while out with a girl that hates fighting.
3. What happened to 5 round main events?

main events are still 5 rounds, in this case the original headliner fight was cancelled and hendo/shad had already signed to be a 3 round fight and one or both of the partys didnt want to change it.

SPOILER

Wow
I didn't actually watch the fight but i found out what happened
Its like i just assume or expect Silva to win
He was undefeated for 7 years thats longer than i have even been watching the sport
I was quite surprised to find out his reign of terror atop the middleweight division has come to an end

Silva is a legend and one of the very best ever
However it seemed like he was taunting or daring his opponent like he was not taking him seriously and it looks like thats what lead to the loss because when Silva put his hands down in the second round his opponent took advantage and made no mistake knocking out the champ

Since this is a hockey forum, I would imagine not everyone here knows the real details behind it. But since they have a TUE from the Nevada State Athletic Commission or California, or whoever, Dana really can't do anything to these guys as long as they test within the legal limit. I imagine in 2-5 years we will see TRT banned, but to be honest I don't see a problem getting guys who really have low T back up to normal.

It's not all guys that used to do steroids that have low T. Concussions, weight cutting (so any fighter that has wrestled their whole life) and illicit drug use can also lower T.

you can tell in his last 5 fights he hasn't been interested, so he does his dancing and taunting etc. was only matter of time before he got caught, but i bet thats what he wanted. but you'd figure he would at least make that much of a costly mistake when he has 2-3 fights left on his contract, not 10.

The taunting was his way of keeping the fight standing. And it was working until it didnt work. Anderson Silva has more than enough money to walk away from the sport if he was no longer interested.

The amount of fights he has left on his contract don't matter, he can retire anytime he wants. I highly doubt we will see Silva honor the entire contract. In my opinion, at the most, he will fight 2-4 more fights. If he grew out of being a champion, there is not much left to fight for.

Silva tried to joke around thought he could win anytime, tried to be a muhammad ali and it backfired, simple as that, he disprescted his opponent and paid for it with an embarassing knockout.

Boy did Silva deserved to get knocked out. He was losing the fight and showboating, it was odd. Weidman won the 1st round.

I really don't know why he signed such a huge deal. Now he's pretty much stuck working for dana for the rest of his life.

Want to make Silva interested get a fight with GSP but have GSP move up a few kgs and Silva down a few. As per stated Silva is disinterested period for the past few fights. Maybe this brings him off the ego horse. I doubt it but you never know.

MMA 's refs and judges are really inconsistent which is irritating. As well, about 5 years ago you could track the fighters and see their progression. Now, guys off the street are debuting left and right and I am going who is this guy ? Brock L is the perfect example. Shoots straight to a belt title and where is he now ? Garbage.

It's quite obvious, Anderson Silva threw the fight. Sure, he did get knocked out but you can tell that he wasn't trying to win. There is this interview on YouTube with Showdown Joe and The Spider. Silva basically says everything he said when talking to Rogan after his loss. "Chris new Champion, I no fight rematch. I'm tired." ect. The thing is though is that the interview with Showdown was BEFORE his fight. I'd be tired too if I was 38 years old and constantly fighting the best in the world, time after time again.

If Anderson threw the fight he would have let Weidman take him down and submit him. He wouldn't risk his health taking one on the chin like that. Maybe he didn't take it seriously (although I doubt it, he's done this **** his entire career, including against guys like Vitor who are far more accomplished and dangerous fighters than Weidman. He does it to throw people off his game. It worked marvelously up until Saturday).
