No, values fine but we need a Bigg player (pun intended) on our team. Enough with the small talent, we need someone who can make a different physically and this deal gives us the opposite of what we need.

I haven't been following Biggs, but doubt that the Habs will trade Gallagher for a simple prospect swap. He's quickly become a fan favourite and is among the top producers on our AHL team as a rookie this year.

I would do this in a second as a Habs fan.

We have too many undersized scoring RW prospects and our system could use someone like Biggs.

I think both teams would rather just hold onto their prospect.

Burke will not let Biggs go. We traded up to get him and he's exactly the type of player Burke covets. Sure, the trade as proposed here might be equal value if we decontextualize these players from the teams they're going to/leaving. We need Biggs for the exact same reason you want to get rid of Gallagher. Based on all the intangibles that surround this proposal, a hundred times no.

I agree with you. I wanted to see either fan base opinions on this proposal. Didnít want overrate or underrate either player. I see Biggs as a top 9 forward, potentially becoming Clowe ESQ, however am not yet sold if he has the offensive ability.

I see Gallagher as a Brad Marchand type of player. Very pesky, tenacious and speedy. Could very well be a terrific top 6 player in the NHL even though he is undersized, he manages to play bigger then his body. I'd like to have both on my team however it would be redundant as leafs are stacked on the right side. Would need to pick one or the other.

Gallagher comes across as a player that will rise to the occasion when times are tough or in pressure packed situations.

Anyway thanks for the insight. I'm more then happy waiting for Biggs to develop.

Only way Toronto does this is Gallagher was vastly superior.

Toronto needs those big body presences.

This would be like the habs trading Tinordi away for an equally good, but midget dman.

I really really like Gallagher but I don't think we would be the ones go for him as we desperately need size in our team. Not to mention I think a lot of people like Biggs a lot more due to his production in the OHL currently.

I personally like him because I think he will be a key guy in the third line for us in the future, with his size and scoring touch. Fighting is a given of course. Reason why Burke moved up for him.

I wouldn't do this as a Habs fan. I really think Gallagher's gonna surprise a lot of people in the big leagues and I haven't been too impressed by Biggs.

I think both teams would rather keep their prospects.

Are you expecting Tyler to be on the leafs roster by now?

Expectations have been exceeded so far.

I would think Toronto passes easily. Having seen a fair bit of Gallagher in the WHL, I just do not see his game translating to the nhl.

2012-13 Regular Season, Oshawa Generals
GP: 27, G: 13, A: 14, PTS: 27, +/- 8, PIM: 42

PPG as a rookie not good enough for you? Gallagher only got 0.6PPG as a rookie. And B.G. is a midget.

As a Habs fan I'd do this easily.

I love Gallagher, but Biggs fills a need. Also, I don't think his offensive upside that much different from Gallagher's either. When you consider that and the fact that he's extremely physical and is an excellent fighter, I think Biggs is a better prospect and more valuable.

Lol are you for real? Gallagher was 16 and biggs was 19 when they were rookies. And for the proposal , i'd trade kristo/leblanc before gallagher

Saying "as a rookie" is twisting facts. Biggs is only 1 year younger so really Gallagher put up 1.4 PPG at the same age... albeit in a higher scoring league.

Oh my, Biggs played college hockey for 3 years. My bad, that makes SUCH a huge difference. Since college hockey is near to CHL leagues, right?
