Maybe I'm just being pessimistic, but doesn't it seem odd that he's heading over now? Perhaps he has a feeling that the players still aren't satisfied with the current offer and that he expects the lockout to last for a while longer.

I'm starting to think that the Backstrom to Dynamo thing is confirmed? Or maybe just visiting Ovechkin during the long break between games?

AO and Backstrom will never be asked to be in the ESPN Magazine annual "The Body" issue, heh.

Ovechkin is reportedly playing at 218 this year...and it looks like Backstrom is too.

Can't help but think this was gonna be his zenith season at 27 before the slow inevitable decline. 55g-110p-league leading type stuff. He certainly looks it.

And we're gonna miss it.

Znarok (head coach of Dynamo Moscow) is infamous for his USSR style work-outs in the pre-season and during the international breaks. One has to wonder how that will affect Ovi & Backs.

I hope the lock-out lasts until December, so that I can watch 8 & 19 [32 & 99] play in my hometown (Riga vs Moscow will take place on 29.10). Sorry guys.

Don't get fooled by all the advertisements. Maximize screen and you won't have to deal with them so much. Hope it helps.

Edit: Ovechkin with a goal on the PP. Nicky with 6:37 TOI after the first period.

Why does russian broadcasts show the clock on the team on the PK, instead of the PP? Not that it matters, just confusing sometimes

Yea I noticed that too and thought it was interesting. I also wonder what the protocol is for names on the back of jerseys. As in, do they have to use English alphabet letters or could they use Russian letters? Or do they not have a choice?

edit: Ovechkin with a nifty pass on a short 2 on 1 to make it 3-0.

Since KHL is trying to push the international market all the names should be recognizable by international veiwers.

3-0 Dynamo. Ovechkin with the primary assist.
