Larry Robinson says Jean Parron as the worse coach he had players had little respect for him.The info is in his biography about 20 yrs ago.As for berjeron esposito traded a first round draft pick to get him to coach Rangers
I don't think Bergie is that far away from someone like Jacques Demers as far as coach, style of coaching, education, etc...And Demers did win a cup. Bare in mind it was 93. But he beat Pagé around that time. I would trust Bergie over Pagé as far as overall decision-making, like who to put on the ice, Bergie was a offense-first coach and never rolled four lines. Just surround him with good modern day strategists. While even with strategists, I think Pagé would be the sort to make bad decisions out of being hard-head a la Jacques Martin. He kept Hextall in the 93 series even though he didn't have it anymore.
Page is head coach of Red Bull Salzburg, team that plays in same league as my local team (Medvescak Zagreb). From most of fans, Austrians as well as Croatians, he is labelled as a psycho maniac. He always complain about something, he is always right, while others are always wrong. When somebody accidentally hurt his player then that player ;"should be dissbaned from playing hockey"...and when his team loses and he thinks that refs were one of the reason of loss, then he uses to have 20 minutes monologue at press conference.

Bergeron is so far out of touch with hockey in 2012, it is not even close. His only strategy, "play hard". The closest resemblance in recent times is Pat Quinn.
Page is the better of the two, hands down.
That said, both are horrible choices.
Enough with the former Nordiques. They are experienced in one thing, underachieving.
The reason Bergy retired from coaching is because he has a serious heart issue due to emotional style he could not continue.Bergy was a good coach and you can't argue that

Well Pagé underachieved cause he had a top team but the other Nords coachs took their teams as far as they could.
