Burg ... Getting medical advice on here is "risky".

With that being said ... Some basic things to try that won't harm you. Take a luke warm bath, and every 4-5 minutes drain SOME water and add cold water. Get that tub water colder and colder. Do this for about 45-60 minutes. Try Lysine (research it) and gargle with warm salt water for the canker sores. And every few hours gargle with listerine or equivalent mouthwash. Hopefully within a 48 hour period, you'll see results. Get that 103.3 down down down! Baths baths baths.

If you don't feel better by Tuesday morning, call the doc. You may have a nasty strep throat or worse.

Good luck!

Appreciate the advice, friends. Haven't been around here much lately, so I thought I'd try this avenue. A couple of additional notes: The fever & headache are no longer with me, which is awesome. I've still got that sore throat that prevents me from eating or drinking anything.

What I have been doing is taking Tylenol every 4 hours & taking Vitamin C as well to help with the immune system, as well as the mouthwash.

If I don't feel better by this time tomorrow, I'm making an appointment.

Morning sickness.

In all seriousness, those are fairly nonspecific symptoms, but likely signs of an infectious disease. I suggest going to the doctor...you might need an antibiotic (assuming its bacterial in nature).

Also, taking vitamin C after you get an infection really doesn't help as much as one would think, the data is inconclusive, but it's better to have it in your system before you get sick.

I don't think I ever had the flu. Or I was too young to remember.
So now what's worse? Me asking for directions or medical tips?

Directions. There's just no excuse for not using google maps.

It is taking every ounce of restraint that I have to not go tear my wife's boss (and my old boss) a new *** hole.

The only two things stopping me are that I'm at work and that I'd probably end up hitting him.

Burg: 103.3 is a bit on the high side. Worth seeing a doc.

On the subject of being sick, I finished my loratab (legitimate) prescription on Saturday. Apparently use on ONE legitimate prescription can still come with withdrawal symptoms.

Yesterday I wanted to crawl out of my skin. Was getting pissed off at the lights in my house. Sweats, achy body, etc.

Today is only *slightly* better.

Ugh I wouldn't take even months of the loratab euphoria knowing there would be a nasty comedown, even if it's only a day or two.

Today is good so far.

Going to look at an apartment with the kids tomorrow and my evening plans are still looking good.

Sounds miserable. Imagine how many people have to deal with that. Hydrocodone was the most prescribed medication in the United States in 2010 with 131.2 million prescriptions written.

That's obscene. I'd be more interested to see how many people had a prescription written in a year. I'm not a drug buff, but I would think it would be common for severely ill people to be issued several "prescriptions" of the same drug every year.

My presumption is that they are counting refills. So there were that many prescriptions filled, not written.
