Wow.

Could someone provide a high level overview of what he did?

This seems to do a decent job. Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.

So... what exactly did he do? I'm not from Toronto, and just heard about this now, but all I gather is that it involved his football team and a city grant of $3K?

Seems like a harsh punishment for a very trivial amount.

Thanks. Seems the City will be better off without this dimwit.

Conflict of interest was the charge that got him.

Essentially he used city letterhead to receive charitable donations for his football team..

Let's not forget that when it was brought up in council and taken to vote whether the money should be repaid, he actually counted a vote for himself to not repay the money. I know it's not Christmas yet, but it sure feels like it!

Such great news to start off the day. I can't believe he lasted this long and the fact that he became mayor in the first place. His entire family is composed of a bunch of hypocrites.

It sucks because the only two people I can see beating him in a re-election are Chow and Vaughan. Both

The only reason I would like to see Ford re-elected is to watch the mass suicides from the Toronto Star building

Before everyone starts cheering, keep in mind this is far from over! Ford still has the option to appeal his dismissal and if he appeals there is a chance he could keep his job as mayor.

so. so. awesome.
hopefully the suburbs have learned their lesson and we don't get another selfishness-fueled disaster in 2014, but i'm not holding my breath.

as someone who never rides a bicycle - can we have the bike lanes back now?

Even if he doesn't appeal, he hasn't been barred from running in future elections.
