All the aforementioned guys were part of the cap that allowed me $6.6 million in cap space initially.

If someone wants to double check for me though, it'd be much appreciated.

Asking price :

Veteran Goalie + 2013 1st round pick (+ depending of the goalie and the pick)
OR
2013 1st round pick (++ depending of the pick)

PM!
Will also be shopping the 4th overall for a young top line winger.

I'm not able to check currently, but roster call ups allowed for playoffs is beside the point. You need to be under the cap from the trade deadline to playoffs.

No no no, that's not what I meant. I'm under the cap for sure, I'm just making sure nobody can pull anything else on me here.

I think you're under the cap...but you're roster amount....it says at the trade deadline a roster can only have 23 players. In the playoffs you are allowed to have more, yes, but in the time before that you've had quite a few more I think. You can't just count guys into your cap calculations, but remove them from you're 23 man roster.

I'll make it easy.

http://www.capgeek.com/capitals/

$6.605 in space.

- Jeff Schultz ($2.5 million)
- Joel Ward ($3.0 million)
- Michal Neuvirth ($1.205 million)

13.305

+ Ales Hemsky ($5 million)
+ Adrian Aucoin ($2.25)
+ Sam Gagner ($3.2 million)
+ Evgeni Nabokov ($2.750)
+ Todd Bertuzzi ($2.075)

Tom Poti on LTIR as he'll never play again.

What doesn't this team have? Skill in the top 6, mixture of heart soul and speed in the bottom 6. A great defensive system, 4 unreal defensive defenceman along with the best goalie in the league. Vote
Roster

Joffrey Lupul - Eric Staal - Chad LaRose
Alexander Semin - Jordan Staal - Jeff Skinner
Jussi Jokinen - Tyler Bozak - Tuomo Ruutu
Jiri Tlusty - Tim Brent - Brad Richardson

Joni Pitkanen - Justin Faulk
Tim Gleason - Jamie McBain
Jay Harrison - Joe Corvo

Cam Ward
Brian Boucher

Surprised we didn't finish higher...

The Rangers may have skill in the top 6, mixture of heart soul and speed in the bottom 6, but their top 9 isn't as deep, nor as skilled as ours.

With the continual development of top young defenseman Justin Faulk and Jamie McBain as well as veterans like Joni Pitkanen, Tim Gleason and Joe Corvo. We are more than confident in our defenses ability's.

The best goaltender in the NHL? Get back to us when he has a cup ring...

So that makes my cap fine, but I see what you're getting at here. I have a 20 man roster in the roster thread which means Hendricks, Erskine and Perrault are still there. But I guess that leaves Crabb and Hillen, though I'm not sure they'd even be playing on the big club. I see how there is a mistake on my part though.

Yeah, think you have a 25 or 26 man roster. Not a big deal though, I was just curious.

I have a 25 man roster if you include Hillen and Crabb, yes. So I apologize here and will take any consequential penalty.

FORWARDS

Thomas Vanek ($7.143m) / Ryan Getzlaf ($5.325m) / Jason Pominville ($5.300m)
Patrik Elias ($6.000m) / Tyler Ennis ($2.813m) / Drew Stafford ($4.000m)
Marcus Foligno ($0.900m) / Nik Antropov ($4.063m) / Patrick Kaleta ($1.250m)
Nathan Gerbe ($1.450m) / Cody McCormick ($1.200m) / Matt Ellis ($0.525m)
/ John Scott ($0.600m) /

DEFENSEMEN

Tobias Enstrom ($3.750m) / Tyler Myers ($5.500m)
Andrej Sekera ($2.750m) / Christian Ehrhoff ($4.000m)
Jordan Leopold ($3.000m) / Alexander Sulzer ($0.725m)
Mike Weber ($0.950m) /

GOALTENDERS

Ryan Miller ($6.250m)
Jhonas Enroth ($0.675m)

Vote
over Capitals. Ryan Miller is a vastly superior goaltender to Evgeni Nabokov, who is 37 and on the decline. On defense, we feel our top 4 of Myers/Sekera/Erhoff/Enstrom is better than the Capitals top 4. Hamrlik used to be a top pairing defensman paired with Dion Phaneuf, but that was many years ago. Our top 6 consists of Thomas Vanek, Jason Pominville, Tyler Ennis, Drew Stafford, Patrick Elias, and Ryan Getzlaf. The Capitals are historically bad in the playoffs, and the additions of soft, injury prone players like Hemsky and Gagner should not help that. In comparison, we are led by Ryan Getzlaf, a Stanley Cup winner and Olympic Gold medalist, and two time Stanley cup winner Patrick Elias, coming off a 78 point season at the age of 36. Vote Sabres!

Yep, just a bunch of propaganda in the hope someone buys it

Miikka Kiprusoff and Alex Tanguay could be moved at the draft.
Jay Bouwmeester is also available, but I'm not trading him for scraps.

Looking for young roster players, prospects, and draft picks.

That's not the real draft order. It's a default placeholder. They will put the real order later.

CAPTAIN CAPEMAN

Detroit, MI The Red Wings' 21-season playoff streak came to an inevitable close this season, but things are looking up in Detroit. After acquiring some key, talented young pieces at the deadline, the Red Wings have locked up goaltender Jimmy Howard for 6 years. Howard will receive $28,500,000 spread out through the duration of the contract, along with a No-Trade Clause. In a more shocking move, the Red Wings have also named Howard Captain. He will be wearing a tiny C on his mask as Luongo once did, but he also requested a C be placed on his cape, which he wore to today's press conference. "I'm a superhero," said Howard after being asked what his favorite food was. The Red Wings will name three players to wear As later on in the offseason.

In other news, the Red Wings have re-signed RFAs Jordan Caron, Gustav Nyquist, Brendan Smith, and Jakub Kindl.

Vote Pens against Boston.

We've flanked, arguably the world's best two hockey players with high quality talent while keeping proven chemistry in the Top 6 (Crosby-Dupuis, Malkin-Neal).

Pavel Datsyuk is no doubt an elite player, but he has played his entire career under an entirely different system. We question his ability to step into a slow-pace grind it out system that may not suit his style of play. To be able to do this in general is a tough order, but to come in at the deadline and be relied on to carry the team offensively may be too much to ask.
