I was tying there being a season and there not being a season if negotiations go post WJCs or around that time. I doubt they do much negotiating during the break. I think these next 2 weeks are be all end all. I can't see the league getting underway this year if they can't get a decision before WJCs ends.

Thank you! I really like the slow-motion replays! Nice displays of his unreal hands.
I noticed, he seems pretty fast when he gets the puck on his stick and once he enters the O-Zone he makes the defenders back up a lot.

No problem! Thanks for the kudos

Yes, when he's got his feet moving he is a constant threat all over the ice. He can really do whatever he wants with the puck!

I don't know what all that was but I liked it.

I don't even need to watch the games that video is so complete, he just looks like he's a tier or two above everyone else.

Great job on the vid! I like seeing examples of his work other than the short highlight reels of his goals or assists.

The stats merely say 1 GP 1 G

but the footage says....so much more...

its a real thrill to watch his highlights, it will be fun to surround him with NHL talent.

I just had a flash: Yakupov is a poor-man Ovechkin the way Gally is a poor-man Malkin. Obviously that's some generous comparison, but you get the idea.
Being on the edge too often exposes you to more frequent injuries IMHO. Since Gally seems to be in the slot a lot, I have no problem with him not being overly physical.

Gally looked so boss at 1:32 entering the zone by himself.

Screw that. He made 4 OHL players look silly 1 on 4. Were he to pull that against Boston, Edward would have screamed we can find him into a coffee shop!

I was going to say this when I saw Mackinnon's style of play but i didn't want to get jumped on, hahaha.

Yakupov and Mackinnon's explosiveness is really special but I really do feel their reckless style (maybe more Mackinnon in the little I've seen of him) will lend itself to injuries.

I think I have a bias towards really good stick handlers so I have no problem saying I'm glad we have Galch over anyone else. Even in games where we lose or he doesn't score at least we'll get to see an exciting player who can do great things on a shift to shift basis.

And big thanks to Hanky Zetts. You're vids are really amazing and a big part of why this lockout hasn't been so bad on me. Cheers!

I would personally take Galchenyuk over Yakupov because I believe he will be a much more complete player and will be a better fit on a winning team. Yakupov is going to score a pile of goals but Galchenyuk will make his linemates better. Galchenyuk is a more cerebral player and a better puck distributer whereas Yakupov is a miniature Ovechkin who will do the same thing regardless of who his linemates are. When you factor in Yakupov's smaller stature and his reckless play you have to be concerned about concussions especially considering he has already recieved a nasty one last season. I am also wary about Yakupov's giant ego and selfish tendencies which are not a concern at all with Galchenyuk.

As for Mackinnon, I would also take him over Yakupov just based on his attitiude and coachability. They play similar styles but imo Mackinnon is more likely to be receptive to learning systems and working in more of a team concept.

Wow, unreal highlights. I know people knock gally for not having the best acceleration but he seems to more than make up for it with the power in his stride. He looks unbelievably strong on his skates. Has he been knocked over once this season???

Wow what hands this kid has!

His vision is unreal, has decent size and shots the puck better then some NHL players.
I'm not getting into the Yakopov debat but I'm gonna say one thing....I'm real happy the habs drafted Galchenyuk and I refuse to go along the what ifs.
Having said this, I'm looking forward to see him at the WJC.

He has such a presence in the offensive zone. With his hands he's able to hold onto the puck much longer than you'd think he could in order to make that special play. Did you see some of those passes? Now just put Subban, or Pacioretty on the receiving end.

He creates space. You cannot learn this.
