"Hope I'll land on Kane!"
"Yes No Yes No... OK Yes!"
"I'm not going to sing!"

interesting argument brought up on another forum: WWE writing sucks nowadays because the writers aren't wrestling fans, they're Hollywood writers.

I remember reading some time ago that WWE purposely did not want anyone with a wrestling background for creative jobs as if that would be better. I don't know if that's still the case.

Seems about right.

I can understand the love triangle bit; the company is trying to draw in the female fans. In a way I can understand the lie detector thing, it keeps the Shield/Ryback/Punk storyline going. Just don't alienate the fans who want to actually watch the talent. In the case of the AJ, Cena, & Vicky G. angle, it's gone on for too long. I know I have a short attention span and have to remember that the story has to play out. Maybe there is some cool swerve at the end but I just get bored and flip until the next segment. I know we all think we can do better if we were given a chance to write or add to the story lines; it's because i think we know what we'd like to see more than the creative team does.

AJ will probably end up turning on Cena and go with Dolph. It makes sense. She goes from Daniel Bryan to CM Punk to Cena and switching again would mean Ziggler.

The AJ/Cena love story is being put aside now because of the pictures of Cena out with the Bella girl

Last week's breakdown:

Ryback vs. Titus O'Neil: Opened to a 2.89 quarter.
Alberto Del Rio vs. The Great Khali gained 129,000 viewers, 2.98 quarter, which was the highest of the show (what the ****? )
The Shield Interview lost 139,000 viewers
Tamina vs. Alicia Fox gained 46,000 viewers
Cena/Ziggler/Vickie/AJ segment plus Kingston vs. Tensai gained 90,000 viewers to the weakest 9:00 PM gain since the switch to three hours.
Daniel Bryan vs. Rey Mysterio lost 366,000 viewers
John Cena vs. Dolph Ziggler lost 17,000 viewers to a 2.7 10:00 PM quarter, which can't be what WWE expected.
Sheamus vs. Antonio Cesaro lost 229,000 viewers
Damien Sandow vs. Zack Ryder lost 421,000 viewers to a 2.25 quarter
CM Punk vs. Kane gained 592,000 viewers with the beginning of the match doing a 2.28 quarter and the gain coming at 11 for a 2.66 overrun.

This week's breakdown...which...yeah... (lol at The Miz part though)

Team Hell No vs. Primetime Players opened to a 2.57 quarter.
The Shield attacking Team Hell No plus AJ vs. Tamina gained 126,000 viewers
CM Punk & Paul Heyman segment gained 24,000 viewers. When The Miz came out, the segment lost 214,000 viewers. ( )
John Cena & Sheamus vs. Big Show & Dolph Ziggler gained 138,000 viewers which is very weak for a 9:00 PM gain and did a 2.63 quarter
Damien Sandow/Santino Marella pre-match PLUS the match lost 226,000 viewers
Alberto Del Rio vs. Sin Cara lost 121,000 viewers
Vince McMahon/Vickie Guerrero segment gained 493,000 viewers and was the highest rated non-overrun segment of the show at a 2.73 quarter
Randy Orton vs. Brad Maddox plus The Shield attack on Orton lost 167,000 viewers
Kingston vs. Cesaro vs. Truth vs. Barrett lost 169,000 viewers
The lie detector segment with Punk/Heyman/Miz including run-ins from The Shield, Kane, Bryan and Ryback gained 509,000 viewers to a 2.86 overrun.

Terrible breakdowns for both weeks. Sandow's shtick is great, but it's driving viewers away. Tamina gains two weeks in a row. The Miz drives viewers away big time, and The Shield seems to be catching on with people.

You can correlate these numbers to the start of the NFL season and MNF. ratings will go up once it's over

Been watching random old WWE videos all morning. Sure we have lie detector test segments but at least we don't have this:

Everyone excited for the 3MB state of the WWE address, tonight?

That's going to be the highest rated part of the show.

I'm seriously trying to find a reason for it to be looked at as some injustice, just so the Shield could destroy the hell out of them.

TLC is this Sunday right? So in a perfect world this would be a good show leading into the PPV but we'll see.

WWE has struggled to do back-to-back good shows. Last week was pretty decent. This week they need to give us a reason to buy. It's going to be tough w/o Punk.

edit: I'd love a 1 on 1 battle with each member of the main event. Ambrose vs. Bryan. Ryback vs. Reigns. Rollins vs. Kane. Obviously let the last one be the two monsters (Ryback/Reigns) and don't let 'em fight. It could be 1-1 on the scorecard and then it just turns into a brawl w/ ladders/chairs/tables. To give us the nice spot, maybe Heyman goes through a table.

That would sell the PPV, IMO.

I hope not. Have Ambrose/Reigns/Rollins all have their first match on PPV would be the better thing IMO.

I can get down with that for a closing segment.

I'm still really hoping for a huge brawl as they go off the air. With the Shield being virtual unknowns at this point I don't think it is too farfetched either. If you put them in matches or have a victor in any brawls, it tips the scales one way or the other. By having chaos in the wrong with guys just hammering on each other, with nobody really getting the upper hand, it builds better for the match because it shows them all as equalds and that there is some hate between them.

I'm assuming it will end with the Shield putting somebody random through a table while the Ryback pumps his shoulders on the ramp.
