What about Cubs pay most of Soriano's salary and get Viciedo. You improve production big time hitting and fielding, Cubs take a chance on a young guy. I think hit 35 homers, so DOES Soriano but we're going young.

Yeah, Noah is a beast.

Can't wait until Rose is back. People are sleeping on the Bulls. If Miami stays banged up and dysfunctional, well, they have a chance to get out of the East perhaps. The Bulls are good. I feel like Amar'e coming back is bad for the Knicks, too.

Team looks eerily similar to the 10-11 group that started 9-8 and ended up 62-20.

Minus Rose, of course. Everything hinges on whether he can manage an AP-esque comeback or not. If it's anything but the former, the Bulls simply won't get anywhere in the East.

They don't have the elite scoring or the depth to get past Miami. They got 30 and 23 from Noah and only beat Detroit by 4, let's not get ahead of ourselves. They might be able to make a run deep just because the entire East is garbage outside of Miami.

Players have big games with their team barely winning (or even losing) all the time. That reasoning's a bit flawed.

But I agree the contender talk is a little farfetched at this point. Still, the team has followed the same pattern so far as in 10-11.

We'll know in the next week if they're just hitting their stride as they did at this point in 10-11, or if they're still quite average as they have been all year so far.

nyk are good and bkn, bos and philly would eviscerate us without rose, and even with him would give us problems. right now indiana would handle us fairly easily too

Teams that start .500 end closer to 45 wins then 60 95% of the time. This Bulls team is decent but nothing more than playoff fodder.

Didn't realize that Daniel Hudson had Tommy John surgery until McCarthy signed with D-backs

Why on earth are Sox talking about trading De Aza?

Without De Aza the Sox have no leadoff hitter

Don't think he'll be dealt. But Hahn figures if anyone wants to overpay, they're more than welcome to.

I swear, I hate ESPN. They never give basketball games enough scheduled programming time. Thanks to them having to pack everything so tight, going to be missing the start of the Illini/Gonzaga game.

EDIT: Or they're pushing back the Illini start time, so that's fine-ish.
