This is a huge year in the rebuild for 3 reasons.

#1. You have some tradeable assets that if they perform well could bring you some high end prospects (Garza, Marmol, Soriano)

#2. Your best prospects are all at the A/A+ level. If these guys can't continue to progress and be in AA by the end of the year, it raises some red flags. These guys are still young so you don't write them off, but if Almora has to repeat A ball or goes to A+ and struggles, that worries you. If Baez still can't take a walk and strikes out a ton in A+ ball, that worries you. Really need our top 3 guys (Almora, Baez, Soler) to make big strides this year.

#3. You have the 2nd overall pick, the 2nd most money to spend in the draft, and the 2nd most money to spend internationally. You want to shorten the rebuild? Make sure you nail that first pick.

I'd be satisfied with that. Not out of the question to draft a SG in the first round this year either, depending on who's available. That's the one position where the Bulls have no definitive future at the moment.

I think they have to go Appel or Stanek with our first pick.
I've said before I'm not a huge fan of Appel. I prefer Manaea to both with his upside and relatively high floor. Looks a lot like David Price in some ways.

#1 Jimmy Butler isn't that good, #2 we don't know if Mirotic is any good, #3 Indiana isn't letting Paul George go anywhere.

Lets wait to see how they look after this season before we decide who is the best player.

Butler has promise, but I agree at this point he's not the guy I'm hoping to be the future at small forward.
We do know that Mirotic is good - he's playing ridiculously well in the second best league in the world (approximately is to the NBA what the KHL is to the NHL).
I doubt George leaves Indy but they may not have a choice. Their attendance is always awful and they're not big spenders. Already gave a bunch to Hibbert, Granger will make his too... we'll see.

Lol, That's who I like right now based on last season and Cape Cod leagues.

Indiana only has $30 mil on the books in Paul George's RFA season. The cap is what, $65 mil? They'll sign him to a big deal.

Mirotic is 30th in PPG and 24th in rebounds in the Euroleague this year. I'm not going to annoint him a NBA star based on a 12 point 5 rebound season in the Euroleague.

If I'm not mistaken, the NBA cap will decrease to something like $54 million in a few years as part of the agreed-upon CBA, but that might be a bunch of nonsense. Haven't done that much research on it and don't remember where I heard or read that.

Mirotic is young, and no one's anointing him a star. The Bulls still need to get their second star through free agency. Mirotic will be a very good stretch four who'll be versatile. He's a good piece to have.

I don't know a lot about him, but people seem to think Mirotic is going to be an All-Star caliber player.

Rumor is the Cubs and Phillies are talking about a deal centered around Soriano for Dominic Brown

#Phillies were initially uninterested when#Cubs approached them on Soriano. Now kicking it around but a long shot to actually happen. (Jason stark)

Brown has shown absolutely nothing at the MLB level, and is injury prone. Would rather take our chances on a prospect who hasn't been given a shot.

Apparently Napoli bombed his physical, and he and the Sawx might not have a deal after all...

He's improving and has good upside. I'd like to dip in to the risk.

Illini just barely survive the mighty Norfolk St. at home.

Fire get Maicon Santos from DC. Solid backup forward with a lethal shot and not much else. Paves the way for Oduro to leave, who's unhappy with his lack of minutes.

A win is a win, in the end. Won't be able to get away with shooting that badly from 3 against better teams, though.

Come up short against a good team, as expected. Missing your starting backcourt isn't a recipe for success.

(Don't consider NY a good team without Melo in, even if they did fluke their way into a trillion threes en route to beating Miami).
