I've seen a lot of people think he started getting into steroids in 97 when he went to Toronto. People thought he was done when he left Boston and then he wins back to back Cy Young trophies.

There's no thinking about it. MacNamee went on record in court and had the evidence to back it up.

Ya he said he started injecting him in 98 and I have little doubt he was also doing it in 97

Well, Jupton used his NTC to veto a deal to the Mariners.

blue jays are also on upton 4-team no-trade list, @CBSSports reported. @jcrasnick reported cubs and red sox also.
Fellow Cubs fans, I am afraid we must end our dreams of acquiring him. Sigh.

There's a reason the Cubs and Red Sox are on the list

In other Cubs news, the team has signed Darnell McDonald and Brent Lillibridge to minor league deals.

Probably not a fan of the big markets and the media that comes with it.

I didn't want Upton anyway, so I was happy when I read that.

The rumor is he legitimately doesn't like Boston and doesn't want to play there.

As for the Cubs? Who knows. Sometimes, players use these lists as a way to be able to force an extension from big-market teams in the event of a trade.

The Cubs have a very checkered recent past with black players.

Cubs fans and media have a very checkered past few decades with non-white players, at least.

Yeah, who knows what was really said from the bleachers and what wasn't. I've sat there and have never heard anything offensive. Nevertheless, guys like Hawkins, Jones and Bradley were all some of the biggest raging A-holes in the game regardless of color or anything else, they just were big time ****** bags. It's too bad we had that string all together like that. Hopefully Jackson has a good and productive career here and doesn't instigate anything. Then things may change.

So does Cleveland and they are not on his NT list. So I doubt that's the issue.

------------------

I still think the Cubs inclusion on Upton's list is random. The Cubs are the only NL team he would not accept a trade to? please. I understand why he doesn't want to go to Seattle (what elite hitter would), I can understand Boston (Upton does not seem to like Boston, as he once remove the Yankees and replace them with BoSox on his NT list), hell I can even understand Toronto (have to pay two taxes), but why the Cubs? I have not seen or hear any reason for his inclusion of the Cubs. The Cubs inclusion just seem too random to me.

It doesn't really matter, as I think he'll end up in ATL.

Hoosiers escape, that was a nerve racking ending.

Minnesota is for real.

Would have been nice for them to win and boost our SOS. I don't think Minnesota, IU or Michigan will lose any conference games at home.

I can't see IU winning either of those games away, that's for certain.
