Someone stepping up to the plate...I like it.

As a Stony Brook student, nice to see my school ranked up there. Interested in the upcoming game against CCSU on Saturday, as well as seeing Marcus Coker in action for the first time.

Hopefully App doesn't get slaughtered by ECU like they did against VT last year. Jamal Jackson has some seasoning under him, and he can't possibly be worse than DP.

How many wins against FBS teams will teams get this week? I think the Jacks can take down KU.

I'd need to see a list of who plays who. Most of the FCS lost big last year, but then the FCS as a whole was kind of down last year.

Based on KU being godawful again, or are the Jacks decent?

I think that there is really no way KU can be as awful as last year But maybe that is the alum in me talking. I just thinking having solid QB play, and a coach who won't look completely lost on the sidelines (though I am not a Weis fan) will help.

UNH wins 38-17 over Holy Cross.
Just like last year kicking game is an issue. 2 missed PAT and another one block.

still LOLing at the Kent State guy running the wrong way on a punt.

I think too many people look at how Michigan started that season use that as an explanation that they just weren't very good that year. But no one seems to remember that they finished with a top 20 BCS ranking and beat #9 Florida in the Capital One bowl.

Oh I know, I was just stealing the VT thing. I am this board's biggest homer and I'm not afraid to admit it.

They weren't, but it was the game that got Lloyd Carr ousted. They were never going to be national championship contenders ever again with him.

Great start, but it went downhill from here. Absolutely atrocious call on EZU's fumble return really knocked the win out of them. They looked good on offense and defense, but the special teams really did them in. Gonna be another tough test vs. Montana next week. Can't start 0-2.

Holy crap, what did Mick Delaney say to the Griz at halftime? What a miserable way to come out...fumbling the kickoff out of bounds at the 1, allowing an 80 yard TD pass on South Dakota's first offensive play of the half (a completely uncovered receiver going right down the middle...yeesh), and then a pick six right away afterward.

Ugh.

edit: And a quick turn-around. A double-pass from TE Greg Hardy goes for a TD (missed 2-point) and an interception leads to a quick TD (missed 2-point) puts the Griz up 28-24.

The blocked extra point winds up taking 3 points off the board for Montana. Ugh.

And then South Dakota fumbles on their next touch, Griz ball in the red zone. Quick TD. 35-24.
