It's not about you though. IT's about developing good Canadian players through the Canadian system. Lowering the ratio or getting rid of it altogether will just create downward cycle in the Canadian university system which will ultimately mean fewer quality players coming out of CIS altogother.

As it is now the moajority of Canadians starting in their spots in the CFL deserve their spots. Two of the best running backs in the league are Canadian, and one of those went to a Canadian college while the other was runner-up for league MVP.

I don't dislike the NFL, but only really watch the playoffs

NFL fan here. I really don't have too much of an opinion on most of the rule differences. However, I would love to see unlimited backfield motion in the NFL.

Big fan of both leagues.

There is one thing that drives me crazy about the NFL, and that's the time wasting. The 40 second playclock is horrible, in my opinion.

Once a team is leading and has the ball with under 3 minutes left, you might as well turn off the TV.

In the CFL, there could be 2 or 3 possession changes in that time.

On the other hand, the CFL overtime is terrible. Reminds me of the NHL in that respect. The CFL used to have the perfect overtime format: two 5 minute halves. Now it's this gimmicky "shoot-out" and I hate it.

I could not imagine sitting around all sunday wasting my time watching NFL football. its awful on so many levels.

where do i start?

4 hour games , 2 hours of commericals

1 sided overtime, first goal wins works in hockey, not football.

sissy fair catch rule

needing 4 downs to get 10 measly yards

championship winning team takes a back seat to whoever played the halftime show.

higher percentage of degenerate athletes.

billion dollar league using high school refs.

No game lasts 4 hours. What an asinine comment.

OT rules have somewhat changed - but still, if you can't play D properly, too bad.

Sissy fair catch rule? Would you like to see more concussions?

Degenerate athletes? You do know the CFL has its fair share of 'degenerate' athletes as well? Only these are the type that failed out of the NFL.

THe CFL is absolutely terrible...i don't know how people can sit trough a full game. Its absolutely laughable that the CFL homers are saying that CFL players are faster than NFL players. NFL players are bigger, faster, more agile, smarter...not even comparable. Theres a reason why CFL players are making peanuts in the CFL.

Exhibit A:

what a JOKE

Let me look at the rules and what it would mean for football:

Longer Field and End zones: This would make a pass to the corner deadly and easier. Also NFL owners would complain of larger fields eating away at # of seats.

Wider field and end zones: I would like a wider field but you can look at the above. a Wider field would open the game to a 12 man roster.

12 vs. 11: If you answer the above you answer this.

3 vs. 4 downs: I hate 3 downs, it works for CFL because of their rules but 3 downs kills the running game. Turns the game into a passing game.

1 yrd vs. 11 inches: I like the 1 yrd rule. Gives the defense a large head start for pass rushing.

No yards vs. taking a knee: Ok rush! rush! rush! to the back man...now STOP! you are too close. Both suck, but the only option would be set the kicking team back 5 yards from the line of scrimmage and THEN go at kickoff. When it's an on-side kick, you can line up at the line of scrimmage. Yes, you make it obvious that it's an on-side kick but it's a fundamental flaw in the game. I can understand Goodell trying to get rid of it.

Unlimited motion vs. Limited motion: Aesthetically, I like unlimited motion, but I also like defensive football. Limited motion makes it easy to break down the defense for the QB. I haven't watched enough CFL to see how it is with unlimited motion.

20 vs. 40 second play clock: Indifferent, It speeds up the game but with radio's in the helmets it's not as slow.

1 timeout vs. 3 timeouts: Only 1 timeout? No, 3

Rouge vs. touchback: I like the rouge. It forces more returns and adds an element to coaching strategy.

1 ft in bounds vs. 2: it's takes a lot more skill to get 2 vs. 1

Goalposts in the endzone vs. on the endline: Give me on the endline. It's a safety issue.

Plays like this happen maybe once per season, if that. If your favourite team is involved it can be exciting to watch. These sorts of plays echo a distant past where kicking the ball happened a lot more often. I think at one time, you couldn't run more than a few steps and then you had to bounce then kick the ball.
