New info from the team owner:
http://starsblog.dallasnews.com/2013...uniforms.html/

Quote:
Gaglardi said the team is awaiting a prototype for the new green uniform, and that he is not aware of a deadline because there have been delays in getting the prototype. He said that the only way this doesn’t get done in time for the 2013-14 season is if the team is not 110 percent sure these are the right uniforms.

Looks like its not going to get done then, as it is impossible to be 110% sure of anything.

That is everything RBK is not. None of the RBK jersey or logo designs have a classic, vintage look. I am curious to see this new design to say the least.

I'm thinking they may go back to this color scheme/design, but with green being the predominant color.

The bright green and the shoulder hems just scream 70s to me. I think their original design had a more vintage look. Just give this a bit of an update and they're good to go.

I personally think the North Stars look is overrated. In my opinion it just looks bad..

Dallas can keep their own, original green and color scheme. It stings enough that this state's former team is there as it is; no need to go back and use a history that doesn't have anything to do with their current organization.

Let's just say that if Dallas goes with a North Star scheme, it's not going to go over to well.

It has everything to do with the current organization. Just not the current city.

I know that is a popular opinion around here, but I think when an organization moves cities, it takes everything with them.

You're going to be one of maybe 30 old people who will cry about this.

Well, lets just put it this way. The day Dallas shows up in Minnesota with North Star colors is the day we see an NHL team forced to forfeit a game due to fan behavior. I'm not sure the members above really understand the type of pull that team history still has around Minnesota.

If Minnesota took back their colour scheme when Dallas debuted their black and white uni's, it would make more sense for Dallas to look at other colours and completely redesign the uniforms. Instead, Minnesota has been toying with greens, reds and off-whites (or wheats). It doesn't seem like the Minnesota Wild management is interested in the North Stars colours.

The fans, on the other hand...

If they go back to a "vintage Stars" look I'm pretty sure most Minnesota fans will not be happy. Look at how Jets fans feel finally getting a team back, don't you think they would have been pissed to see the Coyotes do a Jets third jersey or some kind of jersey to them after they lost their team? I also don't want to see the Wild don the green gold and white any time other than a Winter Classic. That color scheme and design should be left in the past where it's best remembered.

Hmm. So all we have to do is get those new sweaters, get realigned into Minnesota's division and make sure to wear them at every game vs the Wild.....FREE POINTS!! Recipe for playoffs!

I just dont understand why Minnesota fans would be upset about the Stars using colors that the franchise has used in the past? I guess its because they feel those colors are theirs? They did leave Minnesota after all

I'm a Rangers fan and I was a little cheesed when I saw the Blue Jackets with blue jerseys and red shorts.

I can only imagine how North Stars colors in Dallas would drive Minnesota fans up the wall.

Somehow doubt anyone would ever want that.. Not saying you are saying it would though.

Mike Modano being drafted by the North Stars and him actually having history with that on jersey on his back and become THE franchise player for Dallas pretty much seals a close Dallas tie with that history right there.

exactly - which make me wonder why the Wild used the color green at all. Shouldn't they have started a new trend for their new hockey team, and distanced themselves from the old Northstars main color?

Minnesota doesn't own the color green. The Dallas franchise had green way before the Wild was even in a jersey color discussion.

I hope they get rid of the gold and replace it with a yellow or something. Gold/silver on jerseys looks terrible because these are textures not colours, which means it's a different type of "sparkly" thread. The gold reminds me of tacky Christmas tree tinsel from the 70s. I hated the blue/silver/red jerseys that the Canucks used to sport for the same reason.
