Last year the Oilers were a team that started well and finished poorly.

So far this year it seems the reverse.

My hope is that Krueger has them better prepared against the Kings. It's better to have that kind of stinker early in a season so they can learn from it. We'll see if they learned anything...

Agreed, but the 2nd and 3rd werent as near as bad. I think Petry, N Schultz, and Smid played pretty bad in the 1st. Those guys need to shut down the opposition. And Dubnyk played crappy to.

Of the 6 periods played so far this year 5 gave me optimism and 1 was the worst period in Oiler history.

Columbus already in tank mode.

After Bobrovsky shows well against Detroit, they start Mason against the Coyotes.

I'm calling it now Lupul never scores 20 again and this injury will be the reason his contract is inflated.

Tough couple months for Hudler. Gets throat cut and now is coming back after the death of his father.

Soooo... Am I the only one shocked at the Kassian love? The sports headline for the Vancouver Sun was "Kassassinated" and gushed with love for this guy. All I see when I watch is a plugger with some grit. Yes, he's a good guy to have on the team but he has just terrible hands. I was actually thinking while watching the game last night that the Sedins must feel extremely frustrated that every time they pass to him the play dies on his stick. But maybe it's just me?

Not shocking at all. People loved the way he played in the WJ couple years back.

For what means? Ground and pound and submissions on ice?

I guess we'll wait and see, but he reminds me a lot more of Ethan Moreau than he does Todd Bertuzzi (good Todd, not bad Todd).

He played good the last 3 games but I think a large part is due to the Sedins. He had rough campaign in the AHL and last year on the 3rd/4th line.

Even a guy like Hartikenan could put up decent #'s with the sedins

Trade speculation in Florida...Stephen Weiss a healthy scratch.
Looks like Luo is going to get his wish. Weiss at centre with Kesler and Booth poised to come back makes the Canucks dangerous again.

EDIT: Scratch that.

Like seeing the Maple Leafs give up 4 consecutive goals

Edit: make that 5 consecutive

Ovi back to LW. Probably for the best. He really got caught the other night out of position and probably made things worse for whoever was on the left side.

I don't know why they ever moved him to RW in the first place. HFOil posters would all have him playing center, but a RW? That's preposterous!
