Actually he's playing out of Slovakia... the KHL isn't JUST Russia.....

He never pissed and moaned, he was quiet about wanting out and it was more about losing and Quinn than the weather.

Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
Just a low rumble for now, but there are whispers KHL teams may be offering "inducements" to get RUS stars to stay and not return to NHL.
Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
In last 24 hours, multiple sources told me NHL teams would do well to have roll call because it's possible a RUS player or two may not show
Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
Two things to keep in mind: 1. Many RUS stars publicly stated earlier this season they might stay the entire the year in the KHL
Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
2. NHL-KHL have post-Radulov pact to honor contracts. That said, been suggested to me this entire issue could heat up again. We'll see.
Thought if you break your deal that the IIHF is suppose to step in and ban players from international play? Would it not just be in everyone's best interest for the IIHF to make a statement now?

Yeah, I thought of that after I made the post. My point still stands. This drama about him not wanting to play with the Islanders started immediately after the trade from Anaheim.

Anyone else think that Phoenix's defense will put up more points than their forwards this season?

I always thought Phoenix had 21 D-men and 2 goalies.

Doubtful, he's not going to put his Olympic play at jeopardy.

Will be interesting. He's still playing in Russia. He also no longer gets to play with parise, so he might be carrying a team again like in Atlanta

Sure, but if he doesn't play the IIHF is suppose to suspend him. Can't see him not coming back. He might demand a trade or play like crap though.

I think it's just Kovalchuk being Kovalchuk.

I loved this tweet from Nielson:
Dustin Nielson @nielson1260 So it is true...Canucks pursue free agent Cam Barker. http://www.news1130.com/2013/01/08/c...er-cam-barker/ …
Dallas's farm team didn't even want him, this is going to be worth every penny now for a shortened season.

That's less than a season ticket for hockey here...
But I guess if they're concerned fans may stay away after the lockout getting an extra 200 people to each game isn't a bad thing.
