So the sharks lost to the jackets today and are on a 5 game losing streak now,
it's not how you start it's how you finish

The worst thing that ever happened to the NHL was the loser point. It creates the illusion that teams are better than they are when the playoff races kick into gear.

Well, I'd say there's 4 teams too many, but yeah loser points suck.

I said long ago. Zero points for a tie. No OT or shootouts. Perfect.

Sort of surprised there's anybody on the planet who actually wants to see tie games. No competition should have them.

No it should be 1 point for ties and 3 for wins.

This is crunch time for Oilers to get wins.

SJ stumbling
Calgary missing Kipper & Iggy not playing hot
Vancouver still missing Booth and Kesler
Avalanche with injury problems
Kings slumping

Too logical. This is the NHL we're talking about.

I just want every game to be worth the same amount of points. 3 for a regulation win, 2 for an OT win and 1 for an OT loss.

I'd be fine with that too.

Another loss for Calgary but they get a point out of it.

They should just start awarding both teams a point each before the game even begins.

Minnesota has arguably been more disappointing than Edmonton so far this season. Seems like they're having a lot of trouble scoring goals/generating offense as well.

Their defense is stinking it up and Suter has been underwhelming so far. Parise is bringing it though.

All the Eastern Canadian teams and Anaheim have been surprising as hell. Even Chicago and NJ better than expected.

Wash, Philly, LA, Minny struggling more than expected.

We knew it was going to be a weird year.

"Pretty simple the team that works the hardest wins the hockey game." - Sharks coach Todd Mclellan

Maybe the Jackets are playing above their heads but their busting their collective ***** ATM.

Setoguchi MIA, Heatley MIA, Granlund has been quiet (although he is a rook), Brodin has looked good but I was expecting more from Minny. I may be wrong, but isn't Gilbert their top scoring D man right now?

Pretty crazy that Matt Frattin already has 7 goals, he's one shy of his goal total from last year in 46 less games.

I was at the minty / flames game tonight. The only good thing about it is that I no longer consider us to be the worst team in the west. Both if these two teams are soft and almost no offensive skill.

I watched Gilbert closely and there was never one instant where I missed him. He is getting older and less capable.

Btw, suter should call weber every morning and thank him for his contract. He is ok but is not an all star without weber

Weber isn't exactly ripping it up this year either. I think they both miss each other badly.

Parise started off with 9 points in 5 games but only has 1 point in his last 7 games.

Hopefully his cold streak continues
