IIRC, aren't achilles injuries the one that effects foot speed? I know when say a RB gets them in the NFL, their speed the majority of the time will be less than before the injury. Is it the same in hockey? I can't remember.

I hope for the best for Karlsson. He's a terrific talent. I also don't think Cooke did it intentionally.

Narnia always used to complain about it... but she had a point. It's absurd that the Flames always seem to get the second game of back-to-backs when a team comes into Alberta.

It would be interesting to see which teams benefit from the B2B games, especially in this shortened season.

Imagine if what happened to Karlsson happened to Schultz. Best wishes go out to Karlsson.

Also, why is anyone surprised about the Calgary game score? This has been happening for an age; they get the second off back to backs...
Not criticizing them - we should have played better and won the ****ing game yesterday.

I had a minor stretch of my Achilles' tendon when I was in soccer. A guy skid tackled me from behind. I was in pain, but not that bad. The next day I could not walk. I had to physically crawl around the house. This is in grade 9. My foot was swollen and it pounded with pain. I we t to the dr and he said it was a very minor stretching if the Achilles' tendon. Thsts it. He gave me special insoles and after about 2 weeks it got a lot better.

I cannot imagine cutting it!

How damn typical is this? 4-1 City of Cows after 1? The only positive is that the Flames just spent their offensive output for the next week.

So pissed. Stars play lights out against the Oilers then bend over and take it against the Flames. FML

4-2 now

It would be a real treat to see Dallas spoil the Flames 3 goal lead. **** it, I'm making popcorn.

Feel for Karlsson. Hopefully he rebounds from this and it doesn't affect his career too badly.

The Stars were garbage against the Oilers outside of Lehtonen, who didn't get the start tonight.

Calgary is pretty bad, too, so this one might actually end up being hilariously close.

Not sure why Iginla is instigating a fight against some guy whose name he probably still doesn't know.

Damn, what is that thing the Flames keep doing that makes the red light go on?

Wish we could do that.

Bad goaltending and defensive coverage in both ends of the ice.

6 goals for the Flames.

Just like 6 one-night-stands for your ex-lover. In one night.

Ugggggh... I totally forgot that Kiprusoff was out. I just knew that they'd pile up some points with him out.

Stars know where the easy pts are. Beat us twice in our own barn.

Thats the trouble in the NHL when teams consider you the must win game on the calendar.

Why would the Stars be more worried about us than the Flames?

I think it was intentional. The quick little stomp down makes me wonder. I don't think he intended the severity of it, but I think the intent was there to do some harm.
