Where has anyone said this

I guess I probably was out of line to say Russias defense "sucks" I just think it was a really poor decision regarding Zadorov. As for Nugent-Hopkins I think we can all agree he is the best player in the tournament by far and his numbers in the real games will prove it.
A certain person liked to use this very suggestive firgure of speech... You are not in good company with him. RNH is a great player, but to call him "best player by far" before the tournament is laughable.

that is obviously false (history shows it), but anyway, i think this whole argument about Euro players (and Russians in particular) leaving early for N.A. is beaten to death and particularly boring when placed in a thread where it doesn't belong.

How does the Russian defense look right now? Who's the best offensive defenseman?

When is Russia's final roster decided? Anyone care to post a guess at the lines?

The exposure the prospects get, their willingness to come over to NA, and the style of play all make it a much better option if their aspirations are to play in the nhl.

That's not even a question.

The kids that you will see on the Russian team in the WJC who haven't played in NA will get plenty of exposure with NHL scouts. The NHL scouts will have a book on each one of them. If they are a good prospect (e.g., Datsyuk, Malkin, Ovechkin, Tarasenko, Kuznetsov), they will be drafted. On the other hand, if they're not good enough to make the World Junior team, what are the chances that they will be drafted by the NHL anyway? Yakupov would have gone No. 1 regardless of where he played at age 18.

The roster will be anounced on 24th, i.e. 2 players must be cut now. If you just look up in this thread you'll find the lines. They haven't changed througout the camp.

Incorrect.
There's an overflow of information that says otherwise.

You are right, it's not even a question that elite European produced talent get drafted and play in the NHL year after year.

You really must have misread the situation if you think I'm offended. What I am is in disagreement.

Streams will appear here ~5 minutes before the match.

If you download sopcast and they have a sopcast link use that as they are usually High Quality.

Some rumors that Varnakov is going with 11 forwards and 9 defensemen.

I really hope not.

Looking at the lines from 17th of December I have highlighted those that got cut a couple of days ago, Zharkov is standing out as the forward who may be cut depending on his performance today. Koledov will not play against Switzerland today due to injury.

Yarullin - Nesterov; Yakupov - Khokhlachev - Sigarev
Dyakov - Dyblenko; Kucherov - Grigorenko - Slepyshev
Koledov - Mironov; Nichushkin - Tkachev - Shalunov
Vasilevski - Tryamkin; Mozer - Kosov - Kapustin
Zadorov - Sergeev; Zlobin - Yakimov - Zharkov

4-3 down to Switzerland.

From what I know

1-0 Kucherov
2-0 Khokhlachev
3-1 Yarulin
4-4 Yakupov

edit:4-4 now

4-4 in only the first period...
