I thought I had a good season debut against Winnipeg, 3-2 victory, 25-10 in shots and 8 mins of time on attack.

I would love to know how to do that glitchy wrist shot goal from the high slot though. Gonna practice it later tonight

Good start to the season. Lost a close one in OT to SJ. Came back and won 6-4 against Dallas. Ennis with the hat trick and Summers registered his first 2 points of the season, as did Atkinson. And then lost in a shootout in a tightly contested match against the and his newly acquired duo in Heatley and Kostistyn

1-0-2 to start the season. Advance that ****.

Hurricanes start their Stanley Cup defending season with wins against last years 3rd and 4th round opponents. 4-0 vs Florida, and 3-1 vs Detroit. Good start to the year.

2-1-1 in their first night of Bluth Company action.

- First two games went to shoot-outs. One won, one lost.

- Third was a nice 4-1 win over division rival Philadelphia.

- Fourth was the most disappointing performance so far--a 3-1 loss to local rival Devils. Wrister-for-rebound 30 seconds in set the tone, and Bernier outplayed Lundquist. Both teams netted a PP goal, before the Devils added one late to expand the final margin. Once the Devils had the lead, I had some difficulty getting the puck back, though the TOA ended up just a minute or so apart, due in large part to three 3rd period powerplays.

[I'm not loving the feel of the Rangers so far. Nash, in particular, hasn't felt quite right yet. As a Flyers fan, I've never really used the Rangers, so they are all pretty new to me. I've got two left against TB. And I'll probably play another window or two before I make any moves. ]

haha, he blew that entire line last night, especially Cole (hatty)

i dont think i've ever played an EA NHL game as drunk as i was last night. went 1-1-1 and felt like I played amazingly, maybe I need to get plastered to do well (i knew that's the case for pool)

I should let everyone know since Carolina found out about this the hard way last night, if it says I'm on Xbox but I'm playing COD, then that is one of my roommates, and for some reason they are too stupid to send a message back saying that I'm not on. That can occasionally happen with NHL too, but more times than not when it says I'm playing NHL, it actually is me.

Ovechkin v2.0

*Ovechkin celebrates after scoring the OT GWG against Vancouver

He's back. The same guy that's managed to take home back to back scoring titles and all forms of the MVP award is firing on all cylinders once again with 2 goals and 2 assists in 2 games to start the season - but there's a difference, Ovechkin is displaying much stronger defensive skills this time around. He's seeking out and crushing guys in the open ice. He already has 5 takeaways in 2 games and only 1 giveaway, last year it would have been the other way around. And he's doing all this with less ice time per game.

"You know, everyone think I just use my shoot, my game is all about my shoot and nothing else", Ovechkin said today after practice. "Different this time around you guys, I work hard in offseason with Datsyuk and he teach me defense, he teach to be strong even when puck is gone. I wanna be the best on both ends of ice not just attack. I learn from one of the Russian greats, hopefully I can become a great too one day."

Varly shuts the door as Avalanche Win Home Opener 3-0 vs. Flyers

Avalanche GM Bane:

"Varly was a beast who shut things down when things got tense, but overall we played a very solid game. Still getting the rust out from the offseason but this is a very motivated group of guys. We will not settle for a first round loss this year"
