I tied u up at center, took puck with winger, passed to dman, passed back to winger, went in zone, cycled and then did a cross crease... How is that an issue?

Avalanche start season off with a bang, going 9-0-1 in the first ten games to catapult to the top of the standings.

Avs GM Bane:

"The Avs mean business. We are a driven bunch of guys and used Stockey's prediction of us as motivation not only to him but the rest of the league. The acquisition of Hammer and consistency of O'Reilly and McGinn has solidified our gang and the very very very pleasant surprise of rookies Hishon and Vallerand (5 goals in 10 shots, 89 wrist shot power and 89 accuracy, 95 slap shot power) have given us a spark. We hope to continue such a trend."

I was doing it on occasion and winning back to the defense.. which I thought was allowed.. If it is not, I will stop. My understanding was it was the Tie-Up at center that leads to the breakaway is what people (myself included) had a problem with.

I thought (like all 'glitches') it was fine in moderation.. like the stockey or the price move. Though I didnt even do the breakaway that would go along with it that i perceived as the glitch.

Switching your team strat to play conservatively and NOT forecheck, and then lining all your guys up between center ice and your goal and attempting to make it difficult for the opposition to gain the offensive zone.

TBH it doesn't work in this game though because if a team tries doing this all you have to do is just give the puck to a player with really good acceleration and speed, and then have him slowly inch into the offensive zone. If they allow you entry, you're in; if they try to step up (as they will be standing still or moving slowly in the opposite direction) you just blow by them with your guy with speed as the CPU isn't gonna have another guy right near by.

Simple

Or one can just use the Philly counter

I don't know if people are referring to people flying back to their blueline once they lose control of the puck? I dunno, if that's the case alot of people do that, doesn't really bother me.

I know there's also a couple teams in the east I've faced that seem to have four across (including the human skater) across their blueline, again, doesn't really bother me.

It just baffles me why a team would even want to try the trap in NHL 13. Having one guy attack the puck carrier coming out of his zone is an effective way to generate turnovers, and it pressures the guy into making a mistake that could lead to a turnover or an odd man rush the other way. Having your defense at a standstill near your blue line is just a recipe for disaster given the slow startup speed in this game. If a CPU defender is that deep in his zone he's gna react to an oncoming forward like molasses, whereas if he's closer to center he'll actually start skating backwards and building up speed BEFORE the guy blows by him.

Look at the previous two cup winners, and the guy across from them in the finals (Detroit). Not a lot of trapping going on there.

I know you didn't do that stuff. But I was under the impression that we arern't ever allowed to do it. Like Fuss said its too powerful, almost a guaranteed win.

so is the pull back wrister from the slot.. but that is still legal (in moderation)
I'm not trying to start an argument or anything, just pleading my case, but if the final ruling is that no tie-up faceoffs anywhere on the ice, I miss interpreted the new rule and I will no longer do them.
