Eberle
OEL
Doan

Carter will be the face of the franchise when Doan retires. I'm so glad I made that trade.

Does Boedker still count as a prospect? If not, then Gormley.

What if I literally don't have a legit blue chip prospect lol? Seriously, nothing above 3.5 stars, and those guys are even a stretch to hit mid 80s.

Should I just pick one of these no name prospects? Or should I pick a guy like Carlson instead?

I think the "franchise" prospect needs to be more flexibile than the 3 franchise players. They should be changeable each year.

For instance, I'm guessing that last year, the Penguins would have picked Despres or Tatar as their franchise prospect, but now it will obviously be Kikuts.

Isn't Carlson like 86 overall?

Do you still have Orlov? I'd consider him a prospect.

I wouldn't call NHL regulars prospects though.

Orlov has essentially played 150 games for him. Maybe he could consider Josi his top prospect, but he's a 3.5, not like he should be some untouchable piece. (Trade me Josi btw)

I think it's fair to say anytime you have a young player with over 100GP they shouldn't be considered a prospect.

I was thinking that anyone in the 70s with potential might still qualify, but if we want to use GP, that's fine too.

The only issue with GP is that I thought we weren't allowed to change these listed players except every other year or something? If that's the case, we're constantly going to have to use our once-every-two-year change on the graduating prospect, no?

The Washington Capitals are proud to select four of their players for the league's franchise movement.

1. Alexander Ovechkin
2. Nicklas Backstrom
3. Adam Larsson

4. Mitchell Dempsey?

*elsewhere, John Carlson, Karl Alzner, and Evander Kane are all pissed.

I don't think Gardiner can be considered a prospect, based on the above discussion.

Given Koivu's age, perhaps Gardiner should be there?

It's not like you have to be open to trading either one of them. It's just that you won't be able to trade (easily) whichever one you put on the list.

Which are you more likely to (possibly) want to move next year?

Yeah, I mean, I don't know then. I don't plan to trade Richards, Richards, or Nash either, but I felt like it made sense to balance the franchise assets across positions. Some teams don't have a franchise goalie, but it seems logical to have at least one forward and one defenseman as core pieces, no?

I don't think there's much consequence in who you pick. I just don't know if Gardiner counts as a prospect at this point. (I picked Kreider, who has played in quite a few games, but he's still only 76 overall).

Haven't 2 of these 3 teams already used up their trades this season?

That was last season. Columbus could have had RNH easily, but didn't want to move Shinkaruk!

In hindsight, I shouldn't have moved RNH, I honestly figured he'd want more then a whopping 4M, and I dislike using flakey forwards, Giroux already gets knocked over by a strong gust of wind!
