Horrible coaching. Not one to blame the coach usually but the starters should have been there way sooner, before this started snowballing.

Ross still in the game and he is what, 1 for 7? Played pretty much the whole 4th quarter so far.

Ross has a sweet looking shot, but he bricks SOOO many threes and keeps chucking. His scouting report was right, he never attacks the basket.

No wonder BC hates him. And now tomorrow we face Portland and another guy we could have drafted if we properly tanked, Damian Lillard.

This team is sooo infuriating to watch simply because there so close to being a decent team but can't put a full game together. They hang in with a top team like the clippers for 3 quarters and completely ***** the bed in the fourth. Also Casey's rotations are unbelievably bad. Every other coach in the league plays the guys late in the game, who have been getting it done the earlier in the game. We get a few guys going and get some momentum, then he yanks them out of the game. Ross and Calderon in the final 5 minutes? Are you kidding me?! They were like a combined 2-12.

Side note: I would honestly love to see this team have a brawl with another team. Show some damn emotion. Say what you will about fighting and not being a part of the game, but it does create an underlying bond in the team and creates fire and intensity for the rest of the game. Especially when Barnes was going after Lucas towards the end of the game. Send a message, your not gunna go after one of the smallest guys on our team and walk away scott-free, your gunna pay for that.

Also it would give the team some fire. All good teams play with a "***** You" attitude and that's the way you have to play. Anyways just my thoughts.

Good teams do this all the time. Hang around with crap teams for 3 quarters and then turn it up down the stretch. And no one on this team would fight because BC has a team full of nice guys. JJ would have whooped some ass on Barnes.

So I guess the Raptors season is done before the Leafs season even started, 2012 is just turning out to be the best year ever for sports teams in Toronto... (not counting the Jays trade cause it wont affect the team till 2013).

Could you imagine if they picked Zeller/Austin with our pick?

C: Zeller/Austin
PF: Ibaka
SF: Durant
SG: Sefalosha (sp?)
PG: Westbrook

Damn

Ibaka+Noel would be amazing defensive combo. Raps would have to get out of bottom 3 and Noel would have to fall in the draft for that to happen though. I like OKC. Glad we aren't giving our pick to a team I hate.

Let's not forget about the Argos :p They only won the Grey Cup what..2 weeks ago. But hopefully if there is a hockey season the Leafs can at least make the playoffs, unbelievable how we haven't been able to make the top 8 for freakin 8 years.

The Thunder have the Raptors' 2014 draft pick? If so, from which trade?

The pick went to Houston for Lowry:
http://www.thestar.com/sports/basket...ouston-rockets

Who then traded it to Oklahoma in the deal for Harden:
http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/85...ouston-rockets

It is not necessarily the 2014 pick as it is lottery protected (top three this season, top 2 next season, top 1 until 2017 I believe)

Houston used Toronto's pick from the Lowry deal in the Harden acquisition.

background on the pick
Quote:
Top 3 protected in '13, top 2 in '14 & '15, top 1 in '16 & '17. It's also only a lottery pick, so if the raptors manage to draft in this upcoming post season (or miraculously make the playoffs), and then make the playoffs from '14-'17, then OKC would draft in '18 (unprotected pick).

It isn't coaching, there isn't much talent on this team and Casey has very few options.

Coaching is most definately not without it's blame. Casey's substitutions are absolutely horrendous, have been all season long.

But I do agree that he doesn't have the right personal for his coaching style and philosiphies. IMO on the floor it starts with Bargnani and until he is dealt with then Casey won't be able to institute his defensive approach either.

Is Lowry even that good to have been traded for a 1st round pick? Starting to follow basketball. Haven't done so in years.

Not where the pick appears to be headed.

But yes if the pick would have ended up in the late lottery like projected then yeah he would be worth it.

Not a high 1st in a strong draft, but he is worth a pick somewhere in the first round (where in the 1st round depends on how deep it the draft is). This years draft is looking weak so it wouldn't be a bad year to lose our pick. Next years draft is suppose to have several highly rated small forwards so I'm hoping we have our pick.
