Charlie Coyle or Beau Bennett?

Which skilled, RH shot winger taken in the 1st round of 2010 do you think will be better long-term?

The problem with this is that I'm sure many people have heard of Coyle, but not Bennett.

If I was, for instance, a random Panthers fan that doesn't follow other teams too closely, I probably heard of Coyle when he got traded. Bennett? Well he was drafted out of the BCHL and couldn't light up the NCAA because he was hurt.

In my completely non-scientific and theoretical idea, many people will vote Coyle just because they know nothing about Bennett, like how he has 16 points in 20 games on an offensively challenged Penguins team, in his rookie year, while coming off a total of 10 games played in the previous season for Denver.

I'm not saying it's definitely Bennett, but I think it will be a lot closer than this poll indicates.

Coyle. Nobody named Beau can be good at hockey. I won't have it.

Voted Coyle.

Bennett may have better career, as soon as next season he may get a chance to play with Crosby. Bennett's had a decent start to he's pro career, too.

But I haven't seen him play much. Coyle looks to have the tools to be a 30+30 player.

I have a bad habit of instinctively disagreeing with people here talking about their own team, but I think you're probably right. 99% of this board has likely never even seen either play, and Coyle just has more name recognition for being on that stacked Sea Dogs team and for being a cog in the Heatley trade (or Setoguchi, I don't remember which one he went with)

As much as I'd love for it to be Bennett, I have to go with Coyle.

It's okay, I have the same problem . Whenever I do talk about the Penguins I try to keep it as unbiased as possible.

This season, Beau Bennett has played quite well for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

Coyle is a stud. This poll is unfair to Bennett lol

Coyle. He's has been a stud since being drafted.

However, I think Bennett best fits an organizational need and should flourish next to 87 or 71.

If Beau gets it, he will put up numbers. He has talent, needs to get bigger and stronger.

Gotta say, the 35-5 thumping by Coyle surprises me - but like Hedberg says, familiarity probably plays a big part in that. Should be interesting to see how they pan out...both prospects have a lot of upside.

I think Coyle is the better player, but I'm a fan of Bennett. Kid has excellent skills, could put up many more points than Coyle by playing with Sidney or Eugene
