2013 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge (Dec. 29-Jan. 4) Sweden Wins It
that is wonderful news. this is the first time im really going to be following the tournament. what do you think Teams USA's chances are of medaling?
I'd say pretty good since they've earned a medal six years in a row.
Ontario looks like the team to beat, but the US always has a leg up on every other team as they are literally a team, not a collection of players with a few practices together like the rest.

nice. excited to wathc jack eichel against some good competition. have hear good things
I've read about McDavid. Is this Eichel USA's own supertalent?
From what I understand, Jack Eichel is a high end talent for the US and will probably be competing for a top 10, maybe top 5 spot in the 2015 NHL draft. I know the Halifax Mooseheads have his CHL rights.

isnt he committed to BU. or was that just a rumor i heard?
always a pretty solid tournament to watch when world junior games arnt on. to me this is usually the turning point for rookies in the CHL who take the next step and progress towards their eventual NHL draft year.

He is committed to BU but I do know Halifax selected him as their first round choice in last year's QMJHL draft and were pretty eager of having him on the team, but he decided to stick with the NTDP.
Team USA announced: mostly NTDP U17 team but they added goalie Chris Birdsall, forwards Keegan Iverson, Dominic Turgeon, and Austin Poganski. Interesting to see the add CHL players. No Blake Clarke, Nick Schmaltz, or Shane Gersich, surprised on the later two especially.

NTDP U17 forwards not named, and I assume injured, are Pavelek, Stevens and Wegwerth.
Just a heads up there is no broadcast of fast hockey of the Ontario vs Slovakia game because there is no internet at the venue (Aréna Léo-Paul-Boutin) most games are at the Colisee in Victoriaville and the Centre Marcel Dione in Drummondville both are cities in Quebec, other than the Ontario- Slovakia game ( Russia vs Canada West is shown at the same time and is broadcast) and the 9th place game which is at the Pavillon Jean-Béliveau all other games are free and on fast hockey, there is also the World Sport Challenege in Calgary at the Macphail Centre but they are only showing the main rink and not the B rink games, so enjoy all the hockey and no I do not work for fast hockey, I just follow the schedule and watch the free games.
Slovakia U17 lines as they practised during the camp in Bratislava.
White line (usually the 1st line): Patrik Koch (Kometa Brno/CZE), Ladislav Romančík (HK 36 Skalica) – Matej Paločko (HK ŠKP Poprad), Marco Halama (HC Slovan Bratislava), Adrián Holešinský (VIK Västerĺs HK/SWE). Blue line (usually the 2nd line): Adrián Sloboda (HK 36 Skalica), Erik Černák (HC Slovan Bratislava) – Juraj Milý (P.H.K. Prešov), Maroš Surový (HC’05 Banská Bystrica), Martin Krasničan (P.H.K. Prešov). Red line (usually the 3rd line): Patrik Maier (HC Slovan Bratislava), Jakub Bajaník (MsHK Žilina) – Lukáš Berák (Dukla Trenčín), Filip Adamčík (HC’05 Banská Bystrica), Adam Haščič (EC Red Bull Salzburg/AUT). Green line (usually the 4th line): Jakub Garay (MMHK Nitra), Michal Bednárik – Dominik Javorek, Filip Kundrát, Patrik Kratochvíla (all HC Slovan Bratislava). Goalies: Stanislav Škorvánek jr (MsHK Žilina), Maximilián Pajpach (HK ŠKP Poprad).
Order: LD, RD – LW, C, RW
There is one change, though. Since Krasničan had temperature and he vomitted right before departure from Slovakia, he was replaced by Kristian Ferleťák. Probably there won't be any change in line formation, just put Ferleťák instead of Krasničan in blue line.
Interesting player to watch – Adrián Sloboda and especially Erik Černák. Černák is the only 1997 born player in team and he will be probably the captain of the team as he was a captain during the last two tournament of Slovak U17. Plus, right-handed D-man is always interesting to follow.
As for Sloboda, czechexpert should add something more.
