It was there for the taking, but Fehr pissed it down the toilet... I never thought I would see the owners moves as much as reported....I thought they would try to crush them, but from the sounds of it, there were some good givebacks there...Players were giving too, but the 10 yr proposal seemed pretty fair compared to the last time.
Yeah. I'm not listening to radio or watching tv but that's my take on it. My concern is that poking at the egos of 30 owners just to bust balls isn't conducive to any deal being made.
If the players think they were getting the short end, they ain't seen nothing yet.
Look I'm a businessman, and frankly if Fehr did what I think he did and I'm an owner, I'd grind them to dust now just based on principal .

Good Fehr comes in moves the Goal posts and the NHL shuts her down good on the Owners if the Pa wants to continue to bait them make it three weeks before you even aproach the numbers you got up to with make whole and contracts and pennsions
I hope we do not have Hockey at this point 40 games is meh at best Hockey East and Friday night Juniors is plenty for me right now atleast those kids play because they love the game not because money.
I hate all the Players right now and if they were just standing at there mark I would not be so upset but the fact they say yeah yeah yeah then nope we need more **** you.
Upshall should just shut the **** up if he just put all the money he made up until this point into savings he would be set for life now he is acting like a victum.

Its not hard to see right through him. All he's interested in is back handed moves, flipping processes, and spinning anything said. If i was a player i would be rip **** mad

I agree, it's just frustrating. Everyone knows that if there is no Make Whole there will be no deal.
My guess is if we do ever get a deal the Make Whole will be thrown in at the last minute as a extra "bone".
I'm just disgusted with both sides. Suck it up and negotiate, there really shouldn't be any DO THIS OR NO DEAL. Aspects of the deal.
Bettman showing a ton of emotion, good to see. Not a fan whatsoever of the guy, but respected his quote along the lines of "there is no dead date. my date was october 11th" basically yelling it.

Its sad but Bettman is right. All Fehr does is spin stuff when in actuality he's done zip, has been dressing a same deal over and over to the NHL, and then trying to WOOO all of us and the media with PR speeches. It's a joke and i can see right through the snake.
The NFL network did not miss a beat with the NFL lockout NHL network could still do a weekley hour long show to or nightly or what ever to update it does not have to be 24/7 but would 5 hours a week be that hard, the NFL network had it every turn.

The NHL just got a channel. NBC just picked them up, this was after the NHL co-existed on a channel w/ bullriding and ****ing strongman contests. This is dumber than a soup sandwich as far as BOTH sides are concerned.

Players would have lost in this CBA by 15 round decision IMO...last time it was a first round knockout. Owners *seemed* to give a load more then anyone ever expected, and it *seems* like the NHLPA / Donald Fehr moved the goalposts at the end here...
the NHL is pulling EVERYTHING OFF THE TABLE because their feelings are hurt and yet most of you are blaming Fehr?!
Wrong, because Fehr was given an extremely fair offer, one near to their being a season as a YES OR NO deal. Fehr came back as his arrogant self, having to have the last say, and tried to negotiate it. Both sides have to make concessions and it seems Fehr is much less willing at this stage of the game to do so.

I love how people are conveniently forgetting the ridiculous lowball offer the league started with months ago. Rewriting history as if Bettman did everything he could to get this done by October 11th is such BS
