There's not too many people I care about that don't care about me at all. Maybe a couple people. However not hundreds of players who care about nothing but money, and egos.

I expect if this thing really gets ugly there will be a few more Hamrlik, and Neuvirth types speaking out. Still don't think it will be enough to vote to take the leagues last proposal though.

Wow, that's a troubling development. Now that the lawsuits have started, I think it's done.

Maybe these sucker players will drop Fehr, or at least take the deal on the table. Wouldn't bet on that. I think we'll start to see more Hamrlik types speak out if this gets real ugly.

NHLPA thought the disclaimer was going to make the NHL come to the table and cave in like the NBA did. Unfortunately, it was so obvious that the NHL didn't just ignore it, but took a pre-emptive strike.

Fehr is just leading his little union down the gutter at every turn. NHL may be bullies, but they are damn good at it.

I don't think an Union fracture is impossible here.

All it should take is some of the smarter players to figure out that much of what they're fighting for mostly pertains to the salaries of a minority of the NHL elite.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, the average or below average NHL player is having his financial future's ass handed to him. Many won't/don't have the ability to make up what is lost.

NHL putting pressure on the PA by getting to the courts first.

I like it, while Fehr might be gun ho to lose a season or two in court. The players won't be. I expect a settlement more than ever now, the players don't want a legal battle in the courts.

The NBA didn't the same thing the NHL did and premptively filed a suit in NY. No ruling was ever made.

You mean did and I didn't realize that til I read through the timeline earlier, but after I posted already.

We'll see how this goes, but I don't find anything from today ultra worrying.

I don't even read Dreger/TG's tweets anymore. I've given up the ability to care. Once the season starts, I'll start tuning in again.

Even if it's still following the same script as the NBA, I'm still not too optimistic. This really should never have gotten to this point.

It was never going to be 'that' easy with Bettman and Fehr both involved, but I figured the Winter Classic would be the line of demarcation, I didn't think both sides would be so willing to take it to the brink.

I shake my head at the 'script' part of this thing...I can't be the only one thinking that because this is the NHL it's going to go off the rails before the CBA gets ratified part of the script.

There are real world problems going on all around these pieces of garbage, but all they care about is their wealth and greed. I hope it takes the league 5-6 years to recover

NHLPA refused to discuss CBA with NHL until end of summer

NHL tried to get NHL to begin discussions in Jan of 2011 ,, NHLPA refused

link?

and the nhlpa was willing to start training camp, start season with a temp cba, etc. the league didn't want that. the owners were having a work stoppage until December, regardless. it was their plan

Like starting earlier would have done anything.. Both sides knew where this was headed, they just hoped the other side would be too afraid of that and cave

NHL was opting out of CBA (There right)

NHLPA needed to come to table ,, They refused

NHL was never playing another year under the old CBA nor would they go with idiotic NHLPA idea of playing without CBA (Fehr would have had them strike) and if the NHL went another year with CBA the NHLPA would have just continued to refuse to talk CBA

So instead of 2012-13 season being lockout war ,, 2013-14 would have been lockout
